In keeping with this strategy we are offering an exciting opportunity as Director Business Development & Account Management Consumer and Retail.

The role will be approximately 80% dedicated to various Tobacco customers and 20% with other customers in the Consumer Retail sector.

It will drive business growth through a selected number of regional / global consumer accounts. Account portfolio will be balanced (re target, growth, maintenance accounts), but flexibility is required to adjust the portfolio according to changing needs, with a clear primary objective to drive the DHL Supply Chain business and growth agenda within the EMEA Consumer Retail sector through the pro-

active identification, assessment, pursuit and win of new sales opportunities in addition to effective management of RFQ opportunities.

Your tasks

  • Develop and leverage constructive relationships within target accounts to gain access to key decision makers
  • Conduct research meetings with the customers and leverage coach network to understand the customer's organization, requirements and business objectives
  • Continuously review business potential and identify potential business opportunities, and support renewal activity
  • Present solution proposal and business fit to decision makers, engage in negotiations and close the deal
  • Conduct opportunity assessment for identified opportunities and develop recommendation on pursuit or cancellation based on financial attractiveness, risk and fit of customer requirements with DSC capabilities
  • Develop a structured plan on how to win the opportunity (win-plan)
  • Identify and assess business fit of customer with DSC and develop convincing business fit presentation
  • Present solution to customer demonstrating clear business value, engage in negotiations and close the deal
  • Spend a proportionate amount of time within the customer’s organisation to really understand their needs
  • Prepare, conduct and accompany handover to operations after closure, act as the customer's prime contact until handover to Operations / Local Account Management is finalized
  • Your profile

  • Experience in logistics and very good knowledge of DSC competitors
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Strong drive and resilience
  • University Degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record in sale of min 10 years
  • A strong operational background to effectively manage day to day issues (both proactively and reactively)
  • Well versed in new technology, especially e-Commerce fulfilment and payment solutions, Direct to Market models and the Digitization agenda
  • Professional commercial skills
  • Customer focused - both externally and internally
  • Excellent consultative selling skills and techniques
  • Excellent facilitation skills in order to run joint customer workshops
  • First class presentation skills
  • Exemplary relationship management professional
