Technology Risk Management (TRM) :

TRM is a 2nd line of defense function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of BNY Mellon, that provides oversight and challenge to the company’s Technology organization and related business areas.

The goal of TRM is to make sure that technology, cyber / information security, resiliency, data and technology third party risks are clearly understood by the first line of defense, transparently reported through governance and managed within the defined risk appetite and risk management framework.

Reporting Line :

Principal, Technology Risk Management will have dual reporting line functionally reporting into Director, Technology Risk Management and locally to TRM regional lead in Poland, within the Technology Risk Management function.

Role Overview :

We are seeking Principal, Technology Risk Management with a background in Risk Assessments and Governance processes to join our team to propel us establish and scale a best-in-class risk assessment function.

The candidate will work on multiple assessment processes, partnering closely with the TRM senior management and facing off to a wide range of stakeholders to facilitate high quality, timely risk assessments in a fast-paced landscape.

The candidate should have experience with implementing scalable processes and controls to effectively execute multiple risk assessments.

Responsibilities :

  • Primarily responsible for conducting risk assessments as a part of Operations Risk Framework
  • Acts as a thought leader to establish and continuously improve risk assessment processes and associated controls.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of team's processes through ongoing initiatives including solutions to automate, building efficiencies, and maintaining consistency across deliveries
  • Participate in the CCAR exercise to ensure appropriate Line 2 oversight and challenge
  • Perform review and Oversight of technology high level assessments for representing adequate technology risk posture
  • When needed, extend support to team members on different types of risk assessments and metrics oversight
  • Prepare executive level reports for regulators and senior management
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 8+ years of conducting risk assessment experience required, experience with technology or financial services industry is a plus
  • Experience in communication with senior management; along with excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated expertise running Risk Assessments and Reporting processes, understanding what good looks like and driving best practices into the wider organization
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deliver under pressure
  • JIRA, Service Now, SharePoint, Confluence & Advanced PowerPoint skills a plus
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Excel whizz with a knack for streamlining and simplifying process across disjointed datasets
