Dolby is looking for a product manager based in Wroclaw (Poland) to work with the team that steers and defines Dolby’s content distribution products and SDKs.
The Professional Products & Solutions team defines and builds the products and workflows necessary to enable broadcast, OTT, and VOD professionals to deliver Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos to an international audience across real-
time and file-based workflows. This is a unique opportunity at the crossroads of product management and engineering.
The position reports directly to the Senior Manager of the Professional Products & Solutions Audio group, based in San Francisco, USA.
The day-to-day responsibilities :
Own the vision and roadmap for a subset of Dolby's professional products, be they software, hardware, or an SDK.
Be the Product Owner for multiple scrum teams.
Work with other teams in the organization to align to overall strategic objectives and roadmaps.
Map product goals to executive strategy while striking a balance with the needs of your users.
Be a contributor to Dolby's next-generation audio strategy for Dolby Atmos and Dolby AC-4.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify requirements, analyze market opportunities, and set product strategy.
Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations and product concepts; typical audiences include executive management, customers, and partners.
Perform competitive analysis and provide market insights to the organization.
Work with the marketing team to create positioning and messaging for your products.
Collaborate across the company (development, QA, design, technical publications, sales, sales-ops, marketing, finance, legal, and program management) to ensure the success of your product.
Work with professional partners who integrate Dolby technologies into their products and solutions.
Help to shape our team by injecting new and interesting ideas, methodologies and processes for us to discuss and possibly adopt.
You are an ideal candidate if you :
understand audio at its most basic level; you don’t just listen to it or make it - you actually understand how it works.
understand that despite your products having a relatively small number of customers, they nourish a content distribution ecosystem that delivers spectacular audio experiences daily, at global scale.
obsess over customers but don’t want to just build them a faster horse; you seek a deep understanding of what they are trying to do and why and look for opportunities to disrupt the status quo.
thrive in an ambiguous environment but create structure for your team out of the chaos by clearly articulating product priorities and requirements, with customer data and insights to back them up.
have the experience to know when to gracefully decline the allure of a shiny penny and stay the course, but are ready to pivot when changing market conditions or a new opportunity demand it.
can analyze business and technical problems and make well thought out decisions based on sound data and experience.
are comfortable with agile methodologies and tools.
are a clear verbal and written communicator at all levels; you can write documents that set out your vision, sit with engineers and hash out details, inspire an audience at a conference, and can engage directly with customers to solve problems.
have the tenacity to defend your position but are humble enough to commit to a course of action that has been decided on by leadership.
3 years of Pro Product Management experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, marketing, or equivalent relevant field.
Strong overall pro audio marketplace experience and knowledge.
Able to travel internationally. This position is based in Wroclaw, Poland and will require travel throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.
A valid passport.
