Daimler Financial Services (DFS) provides a comprehensive range of automotive financial services and innovative mobility solutions.
The products range from leasing and financing offers to financial services for dealerships, commercial fleet management, procurement of automotive insurance solutions as well as new innovative mobility services.
The department Risk Instruments at the headquarters of Daimler Financial Services AG is globally responsible for the development and quality control of all risk classification procedures and fraud prevention models used in our local entities in the lending process.
To meet this requirement, we create and maintain standardized methods and modules that are used to develop scoring and rating models and operate a regional scoring engine for larger markets.
Within DFS we are one of the leading departments in the development and application of machine learning methods. In addition, we are driving forward the development of risk modules which are offered to the local entities as scalable microservices.
Thus, we play a key role in digitization initiatives : Together with our active support of the CRD (Credit Risk Digital) project through further development of our rating models, our strategic digitization project ACD (Automated Credit Decision), we deliver a key contribution to the realization of the Digital Lending Model and thus the preparation for online sales.
From the beginning of your internship, you will be actively involved in the strategic development of our scoring / rating methods, further improvement and evaluation of new approaches within innovative business projects.
The internship length and effective integration into the subject and methods enable you to use your newly acquired skills immediately.
Subsequent to the internship, there are opportunities to apply for a practically oriented master thesis in our department.
Your tasks will include :
Studies : Financial Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Engineering Management, Business Management, Data Science, Information Systems or similar
Language skills : Very good communication skills and proficiency in English and German
IT skills : Experiences with MS-Office and basic knowledge of VBA, basic knowledge of a statistical software / programming language, e.
g. SAS, R, Python, Spark, familiar with established database applications, basic knowledge of machine learning methods (e.
g. Gradient Boosting, Random Forest) is advantageous
Soft skills : Reliability, ability to work in a Team, structured way of working, creative problem solving, ability to work in a dynamic Environment, communication skills
