The Asset Servicing Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility, provides operational / service leadership, direction and hands on’ support to a team ranging from 10-15 individuals.
Expected to contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within the Operational environment. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required.
Generally has responsibility for high volumes, ensure timeliness and accuracy of Corporate Action Event Capture, Reconciliation and Processing Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of a diverse and dynamic team through professional leadership, with duties including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.
This role will manage, develop and motivate an established team handling the event capture, reconciliation and processing of positions related to Global Custody Corporate Action events
Work closely with teams in other jurisdictions as part of a Follow-The-Sun operating model.
Liaise with clients and Citi’s Client Servicing Teams on Corporate Action events to solicit instructions, resolve day-to day queries and escalations
Reconciles, organizes and distributes all transactions relating to corporate actions, and ensures actions are processed effectively and within established standards in the markets
Provides support to all operational processes within the unit to ensure timely and accurate execution of client instructions meeting agent, depository and counter-party deadlines.
Liaise with Depositories, Agents, and the ICSDs to obtain requested clarification / detail understanding of complex Corporate Action events and processing details / requirements
Manages, tracks and mitigates risk incoming Client Elections & Responses, Treasury Funding, Market Claims processing, payment allocation and corporate action processing
Prepares weekly / monthly metrics on team’s performance including detailed analysis of any processing, system / industry issues or enhancements.
Performs causal analysis on processes to continuously identify gaps, improvements / system enhancements
Monitors MIS reporting relating to corporate actions, processing accuracy, timeliness, and, completeness
Acts as the initial point of escalation for problem resolution
Assists Senior Management in system enhancement functions, provides feedback on Business Requirement Documents, and participates in user acceptance testing as needed
Develops and maintains processing procedures and oversee the execution of controls required throughout the life cycle of Corporate Action events
Prepares and participate in department client presentations
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Asset Servicing experience a distinct advantage
Intermediate to senior level experience in a related role
5-8 years of industry experience
2+ years supervisory / people management experience
Bachelor’s / University degree or equivalent experience
