As a technical writer at Guidewire, you will :
Work with developers and product managers to understandthe behaviorand nuances of our products
Plan, design, and develop content for our cloud-basedsolutions
Write documentation for our applications, plugins, andAPIs
Collaborate with geographically distributed teams
Contribute to content development efforts and to departmentalprojects and initiatives
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communicationskills, strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and aself-motivated attitude.
Expect to work in a fast-changing,flexible environment, and to use your own judgmentextensively.
Required skills and experience
2+ years of experience writing documentation for enterprisesoftware products
Excellent writing and communication skills
Knowledge of best practices in technical writing
Good understanding of topic-based authoring
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, XML, and other webtechnologies
Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Ability to get information from subject matter experts andlearn by experimenting
BA / BS in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, orother related fields, or comparable experience
Nice to have
Good understanding of XML and DITA
Knowledge of web applications, databases,and object-oriented programming
Ability to write code to test assumptions or to includeas examples in the documentation
Experience using AWS or other cloud platforms and creatingdocumentation for infrastructure and analytics tools
Experience creating videos, walk-throughs, tutorials, andother user assistance for enterprise business applications
Experience working inan Agile environment
