    We are currently looking for a Managing Editor (f / m) in Warsaw as a maternity cover (1-year contract, but with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent contract afterwards).

    As such, you'll be part of our global Editorial Services team that is responsible for the development of content from final manuscript to handover to Production and sign off for digital products.

    Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, they implement best practices, workflows, tools, and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the publishing process.

    The team is also involved in series development and post-publication maintenance and is critical to the success of our projects.

    The Managing Editors are the key players of an increasingly busy team. They skillfully manage multiple components both print and digital through the production process, working with project teams to ensure that publication is timely, on budget and best guidelines are adhered to.

    The Managing Editor role is an integral part of the publishing process and requires interaction with all departments and stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.

    Responsibilities

  • Manage the editorial workflow of the course from approved manuscript through to publication
  • Work with Project Manager and Senior Managing Editor to create and manage detailed content schedules for all components of a project, or a number of projects
  • Be responsible for monitoring and tracking all post-manuscript handover editorial costs
  • Engage, brief and proactively manage freelance editorial staff and suppliers as required
  • Ensure editorial data on company systems is accurate and up-to-date
