Job Description

Our customer is in the process of taking over hundreds of software modules from its development subsidiaries. The idea is to centralize development of the future software platforms which can be then distributed to the subsidiaries for further customization.

Currently all group members develop their own platforms which increases complexity of software and supplier management. Since all software modules are safety compliant, we are looking for experienced Functional Safety Consultants to support our customer in putting the whole software components together and in a good manner.

Our team will be supposed to analyze safety requirements of the new system platform, investigate the legacy components provided by the development subsidiaries and finally give the customer a technical guidance of further platform development.

The project is split into two phases :

  • Phase 1 - teams composition, program blueprint presentation, analysis of the long-term and short-term activities, scope breakdown, functional owners allocation
  • Phase 2 - establishing Agile environment, planning delivery, provision of deliverables, provision of consulting services
  • Typical tasks list include, but is not limited to :

  • SW Requirements break down to sub modules
  • Softwarefunctions Review
  • Safety Case tracking
  • Train Method for Architecture Design, Suggest Tool (i.e. EA)
  • Complete the Safety Analysis
  • Doing Fault Simulation and Determination of Detection times before critical situation
  • Review of Test Specification
  • Proposing a method for Calibration specification (different OEM’s)
  • Safety Case Review
  • Break down SW Requirements to Functions and Sub-Level-Functions and SW components
  • Show traceability by using Rectify
  • Identify Safety Requirements in Doors
  • Complete Safety Analysis Report
  • Using confluence for Work Tracking
  • Using Apis and Medini for Safety Analysis
  • Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience on a similar position within the automotive, rail, aero or medical industry
  • Experience with either IEC 61508, ISO 25119, ISO 26262 or DO-178B.
  • Experience with requirements management tools( e.g., DOORS, Polarion)
  • Experience with development of controllers for Automotive applications
  • Experience with CAN, LIN, UART serial communication systems
  • Experience with Software Quality Assurance and relevant processes such as SPICE, CMMI or TS 16949 : IAFT.
  • Experience with at least one of the following domains : Navigation, Driver Assistance, Communication, Display, Vehicle Motion Energy, ADAS
