THE OFFER

KAP is one of company largest technology projects made up of multiple scrum teams working together to produce a single integrated system which automates the research process.

Each scrum team has a Project Manager who manages the day to day workings of the team and ensures that their team is working in a way which compliments how other teams are moving forwards helping to ensure consistent delivery.

Initially, the role will have no direct line reports. However, they will operate in a matrix where they will exert significant direct control over the activities and priorities of numerous staff working on essential software systems.

As a Project Manager within the technology team, you'll be directly responsible for helping company deliver critical products and insights to its clients, which include the largest, most creative, and tech-savvy companies in the world.

KEY OUTCOMES

  • Work with a project team of developers, stakeholders, and other analysts and project managers to deliver software solutions on-time and budget
  • Work globally to collaborate with team members in different locations and different roles
  • Gain an understanding of business requirements to be able to understand dependencies and to prioritize and lead work across projects
  • Develop clear timelines for development, testing, and deployment that consider complex and interleaved dependencies between both tasks and resources
  • Be responsible for the team to design and negotiate solutions that meet the business needs while also being achievable within an acceptable timeframe
  • Identify risks and work efficiently to mitigate and avoid risk actualization
  • Monitor progress towards the project objectives and provide regular communication of status to all stakeholders, including senior management
  • Work closely with in-house and 3rd party developers to ensure timely delivery of a quality solution
  • Ensure compliance with company standard processes and policies for projects that you are responsible for
  • MAIN ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
  • Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative / agile) approaches.
  • Run the daily Scrum meetings
  • Run & manage project planning, review & retrospective meetings based on agile / scrum methodology
  • Manages the change control procedure, and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.
  • Provides effective leadership to the project team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Uses recommended portfolio, programme and project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking.
  • Sets up project files, compiles and distributes reports.
  • Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.
  • Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.
  • Defines systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans.
  • Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative / agile) approaches.
  • Ensures that senior management is both aware of and able to provide the required resources.
  • Facilitates availability and optimum utilisation of resources.
  • Monitors and reports on the progress of development projects, ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods and procedures (including secure software development).
  • Contributes to the development of road maps to communicate future development activity.

  • Has a sound generic, domain and specialist knowledge necessary to perform effectively in the organisation typically gained from recognised bodies of knowledge and organisational information.

  • Understands how own role impacts security and demonstrates routine security practice and knowledge required for own work.
  • Has a good understanding of Azure Dev Ops and it’s use within the Software Development Process
  • A deep understanding of software development processes, practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience running software development projects using Agile and / or waterfall methodologies
  • NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of Market Research and working with specialist software packages such as IBM SPSS Data Collection (aka Dimensions)
  • Proficiency with Project Management tools
  • Experience working in a distributed team environment and motivating people for great results
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Familiarity with teamwork tools such Visual Studio Online / Team Foundation Server for handling Product Backlog Items & Iterative development
  • Desirable Scrum Master Certification or Project Management qualification such as Prince2, PMP or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
