Job Description

SAP is a major strategic platform at S&N. The company has one global instance with a Core model deployed in the major markets (US, Europe, Canada, Australia) and 3 manufacturing instances (US, Europe, China).

The solution foot print cover Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report and Manufacturing.

The Order Management Solution Architect will partner with related Business Process Owners to ensure the design and deployment of a quality solution that meets the business needs.

The position requires strong SAP knowledge, a good understanding of complex business processes in large multi-nationals and a proven experience in large and complex SAP multi-

national implementations.

Role Profile Overview - Solution Architect

  • Design the technical solution that will deliver both the desired business outcome and alignment with architecture published by Enterprise Architecture function.
  • Meet quality requirements, technical constraints, and performance requirements.
  • Oversee the quality of output arising from solution build and are responsible for acceptance of the technical integrity and architectural compliance of the solution.
  • Responsibilities

    50%) Participates in SAP related projects (releases and / or rollouts) and conducts requirement gathering, fit / gap analysis, CRPs, training, functional specification, testing, configuration, data conversion and solution governance

    20%) Performs L3 support for live countries

    20%) Ensures solution consistency and assists in facilitating the change leadership interventions within functional area and contributes to the Design Authority process by assessing impact of the new requests on the core solution

    10%) Focus on continuous improvement, keeping up with industry and proactively advising the business of new capabilities that can help them support the company growth and strategy

    Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Data modelling and design - Investigates corporate data requirements, and applies data analysis, design, modelling, and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions).
  • Provides advice and guidance to database designers and others using the data structures and associated components.

  • Requirements definition and management - Contributes to selection of the requirements approach for projects, selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-
  • driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative / agile) approaches. Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.

    Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements.

    Reviews requirements for errors and omissions. Establishes the requirements base-lines, obtains formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source.

    Investigates, manages, and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.

  • Service acceptance - Engages with technical design and project managers or Project Management Office, to ensure correct products are produced, in a timely fashion.
  • Evaluates the quality of project outputs against agreed service acceptance criteria.

  • Solution architecture - Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers.
  • Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation.

    Establishes policy and strategy for the selection of solution architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency.

    Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to. Within a business change programme, manages the target design, policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the programme.

  • Specialist advice - Provides organisational leadership and guidelines to promote the development and exploitation of specialist knowledge in the organisation.
  • Maintains a network of recognised experts (inside and / or outside the organisation) who can deliver expert advice in areas relevant to the organisation's current and future needs.

    Provides input into professional development planning across a significant part of the organisation to further the development of appropriate expertise.

  • Systems design - Adopts and adapts appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-
  • driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative / agile) approaches, and ensures they are applied effectively. Designs large or complex systems.

    Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off. Makes recommendations and assesses and manages associated risks.

    Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.

    Ensures that the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements. Contributes to development of systems design policies and standards and selection of architecture components.

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information technology management.
  • Masters degree in business management and / or information technology fields preferred.
  • Licenses / Certifications

  • SAP certification
  • ITIL Qualifications
  • Experience

  • Experience in a full cycle of an ERP implementation based on a core solution and multi-country deployment
  • Experience in order management, pricing, tenders, customer master relevant modules of SAP (SD, SM required. MM, LE, MyM, EDI preferred)
  • Experince with external pricing tool integrations
  • Experience in sales and marketing modules of SAP
  • Experience in information systems, applications including SAP (SD, MM, WM, PP, and FI / CO), and project management, preferably in regulated life science industry.
  • Functional knowledge within functional area of SAP ECC6 EHP-7 or later a must, experience of HANA preferred.
  • Experience in other functional areas is a plus.
  • Experience in governing cross-functional solutions and ability to manage processes end-to-end
  • Experience in a regulated industry and / or medical device company preferred

  • 7 years of SAP experience in an international environment.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed virtual teams.
  • Ability to manage relationship with external vendors
  • Functional and technical expertise in SAP business processes and model
