Your responsibilities

  • Facilitate the communication between national actors (NGO’s or other organizations) to Project HOPE team.
  • Provide timely support to potential beneficiaries to correctly present their projects.
  • Explain to potential associates the technical requirements, at the level of budget preparation, financial projection, and delivery of program reports.
  • Assess the current MHPSS efforts in the affected areas both for protection and health, identify gaps, duplications, challenges, and best practices
  • Support the grantees in analysis of mental health data collected at target health facilities and via community-based PSS programs.
  • Report in daily basis the activities to MHPSS Specialist. Update the mapping of organizations and needs in Poland.
  • Actively participate in Working groups from MHPSS, Protection, GBV and other relevant needs of the refugee population.
  • Support the development of quality control measures (i.e. on the job supervision checklists, impact measurement tools) for mental health services, and community-based psychosocial activities
  • Support the development of referral pathways to strengthen links to available services for MHPSS.
  • Ensure the documentation of all activities and outcomes.
  • Participate in preparation of internal and external reports, including submission of donor reports.
  • Take responsibility for collection and reporting of mental health project data.
  • Implement the good practices are documented and shared for institutional memory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by MHPSS Specialist.
  • Our requirements

  • Professional or advanced studies in sociology, psychology, social work, education or other social disciplines.
  • Experience in training.
  • Ability to communicate in Polish and in English required.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within different cultural environment.
  • Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful environment with limited resources.
  • Desirable with a minimum of 1 year of experience working on MHPSS programs in humanitarian settings.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian, Russian an advantage.

    Physical demands :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be mobile in an office environment and able to use standard office equipment.

  • Work environment :

  • Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
  • Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions.
  • Travel for extended periods may be by air and / or other modes of transportation.
  • While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.
  • Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as hardship.

    Program Summary :

    Project HOPE is mobilizing to provide health and humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons in Ukraine as well as refugees in neighboring countries fleeing the ongoing conflict.

    Project HOPE is in contact with the WHO led Health Cluster in Ukraine, which has noted critical needs in primary health care.

    The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) PROJECT SUPPORT will be responsible for supporting the program activities of the MHPSS team in Poland.

    Is needed to have knowledge in MH humanitarian Intervention Guidelines. In addition, this person will be responsible for evaluating the technical quality of the projects presented from potential grantees under the supervision of MHPSS Specialist.

    The MHPSS project support must examine, according to the protocols pre-established by project HOPE, the response capacity and the correct design of programs for victims of the conflict in Ukraine.
