    Supplier Quality Engineer

    Role Overview

    Evaluate and assure supplier produced parts are delivered by commitment dates. Ensure Delivery issues and Corrective Improvements are implemented.

    This Hybrid position requires aspects of Supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing and quality assurance along with the ability to travel.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Work with and develop suppliers to improve quality, service price and technology
  • Preparing PPAP packages - completing documentation, collecting required approvals, conducting all quality aspects in projects (MSA, SPC, Quality Clinic, etc.
  • analysis of measurement reports

  • Six Sigma Minimum Green Belt
  • Identify supplier system capabilities and improvement quality, service and cost reduction opportunities
  • Understand industry, process, technology and supplier trends
  • Produce reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented.
  • Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and specification requirements.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma and Lean Assessments to drive continuous improvement of supplier’s quality, cycle, and delivery performance.
  • Right first time and Just in Time implementation

  • Establish programs to monitor and improve supplier process capabilities for Critical to Quality & Delivery.
  • Monitor MRP tools, Production schedules, WIP (shop floor), Non-conformances and Corrective actions against delivery commit dates.
  • Estimate / revise delivery dates.

  • Identify bottlenecks, conduct gap analysis, create mitigation plans, generate and track action items to closure.
  • Document, summarize, write reports, and disseminate information per requirements to support customer reviews
  • Preliminary and Final DFMEA and PFMEA reviews at Supplier
  • DFMEA Management Component to System Level
  • FAI (First Article Inspection)
  • Support Quality Clinics and Corrective Source Inspection activities
  • BCL supplier get well plan management & JoJo Deep Dive
  • Skills and Background

  • Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings / specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning / evaluation.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality
  • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to work in cross functional team environment.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and tools involved in Capacity Planning
  • Operations / Quality Management Degree Certification (Desired)
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality
  • Analytical and problem solving skills and Ability to work in cross functional team environment.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and tools involved in Capacity Planning
  • Qualifications

  • REQUIRED : Engineering degree in Quality, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
  • REQUIRED : 3+ Years of FAI experience / UPPAP / PPAP
  • REQUIRED : 2+ Years of aerospace experience
  • REQUIRED : AS9102 Training and Experience
  • REQUIRED : Green or Black Belt qualified
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance, manufacturing, and quality standards
  • Experience with, SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel required)
  • Familiarity with AS9100 Rev D and ISO9001 : 2015
  • Familiarity with of Continuous Improvement Tools (Kaizen, 8S, Takt time etc.)
