Role Overview :
At Smith +Nephew, we are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Project Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team within IT, who will collaborate with the D&A Project teams focused on designing large-scale cloud data platform data-as-a-service offerings.

Role Overview : As a Project Analyst, you will support strategic projects by leading all aspects of and coordinating administrative project activities, coordinating and preparation of PMO documentation, tracking of project budget v.
actuals, supervising internal labour hours for project participants, and researching and resolving budget discrepancies.
Collaboration with key collaborators crucial to ensure proper project information is understood and recorded. Responsible for supporting vendor management by preparing Statement of Works (SOW), PO creation and invoice tracking.
Additionally, this position is also responsible for finding opportunities to streamline and simplify procedures and processes with the PMO / VMO scope of work, documenting the processes and training broader D&A team.
This is a growth assignment role that will allow the candidate to shape the ongoing PMO / VMO processes, ways of working.
Responsibilities Strategy (15%) : Actively engage and contribute to the overall project set-up and ways of working to ensure critical project elements are considered and documented throughout the project.
Design (25%) : Establish the framework and process for administration of the project activities. Collaborate with Project Coordinator and VMO / PMO lead to drive process improvement, simplification of processes related to project spend tracking, vendor performance, and other related processes.
Complete & Govern (40%) :
Complete monthly reconciliation and project actuals to budget, keep Project leadership advised of issues of project expenses.
Collaborate with Work Stream leads to ensure project spend is accounted for in project spend tracker
Identify discrepancies in project actuals and flag to Finance for resolution. Follow-up until discrepancies are resolved
Bring up issues within project budget, labor hours, or other project related issues to the PM and PMO / VMO lead
Complete accrual submission for assigned projects with due dates
Submit project SOWs for signature and raise subsequent POs
Ensure vendor's submit project related invoices monthly assigned projects, track spend against SOW, and resolve discrepancies as needed
Call out unresolved discrepancies to Project Coordinator, PMO lead promptly.
Support Project Coordinator in tracking key project due dates and sending reminders team members for task completion by due dates.
Coordinate the preparation of PMO documentation, review & approvals, and submit requests for Project Phase Gates.
Participate in project meetings to stay informed of project status
Track and report on internal labor hours and investigate discrepancies between planned and actuals, flag to Finance for resolution.
Keep resource managers advised of discrepancies in actual time booking against project v. budget, call out to PMO / VMO lead as needed.
Work with collaborators across D&A functions to find opportunities for simplification of processes within PMO / VMO, implement and roll-out of the improvements.
Follow established processes, offer insights for process improvement and implement & train to revised processes. Communicate & Train (20%) :
Keep Project SteerCo informed of project actuals to budget and highlight issues / concerns of project spend.
Collaborate with Work Stream leads ensure all project spend is accounted for in the project spend tracker.
Keep resource managers informed of discrepancies actual time booked against project v. budget
Participate in project meetings and facilitate as needed, to stay informed of project status and support communication of key dates and reminders to team members
Communicate and train on new / revised processes.
Location : Pune, India - Hybrid
Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or a related study, or equivalent experience Project management certifications or similar certifications a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 4+ years hands on experience as a Project Analyst, preferably in Agile project methodology Although the role is within IT, it is not technical in nature;
however, having a basic understanding of technical jargon and having the ability to follow technical logic is advantageous Financial experience, including budget tracking and project experience in Agile methodology is beneficial;
the culture in the team is fast-paced, and work is performed more often via matrix management. Experience gained in agile environments is considered highly beneficial.
Lifesciences experience is desirable but not critical.
