IS Solution Architect is responsible for the design, integrity and quality of a global Business Intelligence solution and of associated IS services delivered to ABB R&D Senior Managers.
Responsible that the IS solution / service provides the required functionality and meets the cost expectations of business.
Collaborates with and contributes to project set-up and delivery as well as to service operations optimization.
Defines the technical Business Intelligence solutions.
Supports validation and prioritization of incoming business demand in collaboration with the relevant IS Service Manager and / or Global IS Domain Architect.
Review and sign off the functional and technical use case specifications.
Keeps knowledge up to date regarding new and emerging BI technology and IS industry practices, bringing learning into ABB;
all within in the scope of the relevant IS solutions.
Collaborates with users in projects and problem management to maintain, develop and deploy the best feasible and most cost efficient BI solutions for the R&D.
Reviews query performance and optimizing code.
Designs dashboards, connectors, data models, data flows, data quality solutions.
Designs and support solution architecture / environment.
Supports the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of all IS processes related to the area of responsibility.
Provides guidance to IS project management and IS delivery unit team in how to utilize IS application / solution standards effectively.
Contributes to IS Problem and IS Incident Management to fight ticket volume by detecting re-occurring defects and eliminating these.
Proactively supports issue resolution during project delivery to avoid delays or any other form of negative impact to a project or service.
Supplies the IS Service Manager(s) with relevant stakeholder information related to IS solution / services. When required works together with relevant stakeholders (e.
g., business managers, IS Service Managers, another Domain.
Researches new BI technologies.
3 years of expertise in the following areas :
o Practical knowledge of Qlik Sense
o Practical knowledge of MS BI solution (SQL, SSMS, SSIS)
o Practical knowledge of Data Warehouse architecture
o Practical knowledge of MS Excel
Additional technical experience is a plus
o Qlik Nprinting
o MS BI solution (SSAS, SSRS, MDX, REST)
Fluent spoken and written English
Master’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
Thorough knowledge of Software Development methodologies (e.g. Agile / DevOps) is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of IT service management concepts (ITIL) is a plus
Strong cultural awareness, work will with different cultures
