The AIML platform team builds the next generation software as a service AI& ML Platform on real world data to solve today’s healthcare problems.

Our AIML platform helps our clients crunch through petabytes of real world data, build automated AI Models, and helps identify patient journey, predict disease progression, disease impact on population, and many more healthcare challenges.

We are looking for a creative, innovative and intellectually-curious Lead Big Data Engineer to join our RWS Technology division in Warsaw.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world's leading Real World Evidence-based teams!

You will partner with our expert Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to build products that solve healthcare problems.

Your typical day might include :

Driving data vision and strategy for the team of Data Engineers

Setting technical direction for others to follow

Designing and developing data processing in Scala

Mentoring and supporting the team

Collaborating with partners from other teams to design and develop data / architectural roadmap

Driving process improvements and automation

Being part of an agile scrum team.

Our ideal candidate : Experience

BSc or MSc in Computer Science or similar

Extensive commercial experience Scala and Spark writing highly performant code

Significant experience in data modelling and scalable data architecture

Experience in building data roadmaps and leading a data engineering team.

Our ideal candidate : Tech Skills

Proficient in Scala, Java and SQL

Strong experience with Apache Spark, Hive / Impala and HDFS

Familiar with Python, Unix / Linux, Git, Jenkins, JUnit and ScalaTest

Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources

Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB

Experience with any of the following distributions of Hadoop - Cloudera / MapR / Hortonworks.

Bonus points for experience with :

Other functional Languages such as Haskell and Clojure

Strong interest in functional programming

Experience in NoSQL with ElasticSearch

Knowledge of REST API development

Big Data ML toolkits such as Mahout, SparkML and H2O

Apache Kafka, Apache Ignite and Druid

Container technologies such as Docker

Cloud Platforms technologies such as DCOS / Marathon / Apache Mesos, Kubernetes and Apache Brooklyn.
