PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Senior Supplier Quality Assurance (SSQA) Engineer you would have a chance to work within global SQA team and will be responsible for system / part validation activities in accordance with the Bombardier Parts Approval Process (PAP) and is recognized as a specialist within your commodity group.
You will also support the activities related to supplier selection and evaluation with appropriate follow actions.
Within your commodity group of expertise you will support the Global Lead SQA in both supplier performance activities extracted from the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) reviews and supplier development activities.
The role in Siegen is a great opportunity to be part of the continuous Improvement activities in this commodity group and ensure that these improvements are encompassed during the on-cycle activities.
Within this role you would be responsible for :
Execution of the Parts Approval Process (PAP) in accordance with the Doc 24 Plan and PAP activity harmonization captured within the Global Planning Tool.
Responsible for the appraisal and validation of the Supplier Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan, plus applicable SQA related documents.
Generates all applicable PAP reports and manages supplier related Open Items with formal feedback (reports) to the SQA Office / Global open item tool.
Output of the Reviews such as FRACAS, CCB, Safety Board that require SSQE activities at the supplier will be executed by Senior SQA Engineering with support of the Global Lead SQA as applicable.
Contributes to the Supplier Evaluation & Approval Process and drives special process assessments at the suppliers within the assigned commodity group.
Actively Contributes in the definition of the specific commodity improvement transversal Projects / activities led by the Global Lead SQA (as part of the SME network) such as standardization, benchmark, process optimization, key productivity and efficiency levers identification and implementation and supports the execution of supplier governance assessments.
Participation in supplier selection activities for the assigned commodities by completing the quality section in the Offer Evaluation Tool (OET).
You will conduct appropriate follow up the problem-solving activities from the output of the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) Reviews.
The lagging KPI will drive These activities will be built around robust problem-solving actions (8D) and continuous improvement activities including coaching and driving open items to conclusion (PDCA or any other appropriate methodology).
In respect to the 8D resolution at a commodity level the Senior SQA Engineer will ensure direct support and input for critical (safety) and / or repetitive issues.
Utilizes their knowledge, experience and expertise to support the Global commodity SQA network and Global Lead Buyer in relation to supplier benchmarking, performance development and commodity strategy.
Using the common understanding of the expected outcomes from suppliers and means to get there, the SSQA will contribute with the Global commodity SQA network to bring the best value from suppliers in implementing best practices, benchmarking suppliers strategic levers from one source to another and standardize, simplify, specify better across BT organization and projects.
The role as well will drive growth of competencies related to the given commodity within the SQE community as appropriate through developing / contributing to trainings, coaching and best practices implementation monitoring.
It develops a common communication and understanding within Engineering, Procurement and Supplier Quality on the Critical to quality, critical to process characteristics, the best practices to spread across the targeted supply base and the standardization needs for BT commodities.
Your EXPERIENCE AND Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent
Typically 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant role e.g., Quality or Operations role
Practical experience in supplier audits management
Experience in Integrated Supplier Assessment Framework processes
Experience in Product / Quality Planning
Experience in Operational and Quality Methods (e.g. 6-Sigma, Lean, QMB etc.)
Proven record of working in SQA at specialist level within given commodity group
Experience as SQA Engineer in foundries or coming from a Quality background working within foundries would be an advantage
Proficiency in BT’s Integrated Supplier Assessment framework (ISAF), PAP processes.
Good knowledge of key procurement processes.
Good knowledge of IRIS and other relevant standards.
Good knowledge of Quality planning (e.g. APQP).
Utilization of tools like SMIS, SAP
Knowledge of basic Quality skills (standards, tools), configuration & change management,
Profound technical knowledge specific to assigned commodities.
Practical experience of supplier audits (system and process), Parts Approval Process (PAP), Quality Planning (e.g. APQP), Multiple Customer Supplier Relationships.
Expert knowledge of problem resolution / root cause analysis (8D, etc).
Technical experience in operations, methods or engineering.
Will have practical experience on quality methods and tools (8D, RCA, FMEA)
