Business Analyst wanted for IFRS17 project

Summary of Business Area

Our client is a business unit (BU) whose objective is to achieve top-line growth, strengthen the control structure and achieve operational efficiencies.

Taking a cross-country approach to create organizational synergies, both commercial and operational, will be the key driver towards reaching these objectives.

Your Role

The Business analyst is responsible for implementing IFRS17 in Spain and the Central & Eastern European country units (SEE) from the client’s Poland office.

The Business analyst will be reporting to the program manager and is working as a requirements specialist on IFRS17 actuary and accounting related topics.

You will be working in a regional support team consisting of Business analyst and IT specialists.

Role Overview

As an Business analyst IFRS17 you will have the responbility to gather and define the requirements for the implementation of the IFRS17 reporting framework in the BU’s -SEE country units.

You will be merging IFRS17 requirements, the Company’s global requirements with local requirements into a feasible and pragmatic solution design.

You be instrumental in the tool selection for the various parts of the design, in delivering supporting documentation on issues of buy versus build’, providing test requirements for user acceptance testing.

You will be part of a regional program team supporting, enabling and sometimes educating the local country units specialist on the IFRS17 implementation requirements.

You’ll be having an important role in designing, developing’ and testing of solutions. You are instrumental in testing the boundaries of current solutions to find / create innovative ways to support the Company’s BU country units.

You’ll be working with colleagues within the BU, but also from other Company’s entities to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translates the IFRS17 requirements into a detailed solution design that fit the Company’s objectives and governance structure.
  • Works closely with the Regional leads for Actuary, Finance & Accounting and IT to receive guidance and design solutions that fit into the desired operations framework
  • Supports SEE country units in translating global designs into regional / local solutions
  • Supports SEE country units in the defining any localizations if needed
  • Documents solutions in such manner that the can be used for communication purposes with GloBusiness analystl, regional and local stakeholders
  • Supports RfP processes for tool selection through the creation of requirements for any tools that might be selected
  • Creates estimations of cost for implementation and operarition of the designed solutions
  • Defines ways of working in the target solution (i.e. workflows, roles, responsibilities, timing, etc)
  • Works with the IT specialists to create a comprehensive solution for the IFRS17 implementation
  • Advises and cooperates with the BU’s IT architecture function on opportunities that new technological developments might deliver.
  • Creates Test requirements for User Acceptance testing, working closely with regional and local test managers

  • Detailed knowledge of the IFRS17 requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of Actuary and Finance processes and the implementation in solutions
  • Understanding the possibilities of cloud technology (preferably AWS) and experienced in integrating cloud opportunities in the solution designs
  • Multi-year experience in a Business analyst role defining requirements and defining solutions in the area of Actuary and Finance
  • Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson and Aptitude toolings is a plus
  • Experience in cross-country working and multi-country implementations

  • Master’s degree in Actuary, Economics or Business administration or similar
