You will cooperate with internal and external customers, approval bodies, technical committees and others to identify approval requirements and industry trends.
As the Compliance Engineer , you will work as part of a compliance team ensuring that all products comply with relevant industry standards.
Duties and responsibilities
Liaise with approval and certification agencies to support the approval and certification process
Serve as consultant for Carrier Fire & Security on norms and directives applicable to products and systems
Evaluate certification submissions to laboratories and ensure all requirements are in place prior to submission
Contribute to increasing first-time pass rate at certification labs
Obtaining / maintaining approvals and hosting factory inspections
Providing compliance input to new product development and existing product re-development
Monitoring changes in legislation, standards and guidance documents
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics / Electrical Engineering)
Good level of English language (spoken & written)
Computer literate (MS Office)
Well-developed interpersonal skills including an ability to interface with other functions in the organization, interfacing with customers, working with other Technology team members, and reporting to the manager on complex issues
Self-reliant and diligent approach to work
The following are considered as an advantage :
Experience with product test and certification or related areas.
Familiarity with fire systems standards / regulations : UL, FM, EN54, CCCF, IMO, MED, CSA, CULUS, Ex, ATEX, etc.
Familiarity with safety standards (IEC 61508), Cybersecurity (IEC 62443), Lloyd’s ShipRight, UL, DNV, ABS, etc.
Familiarity with environmental and EMC requirements for maritime and offshore products
