Main responsibilities :
BorgWarner customers portfolio includes major global car manufacturers, the team in Kraków interfaces with European customers mostly from Germany, France, and the UK.
The team develops components of vehicle fuel systems responsible for environmental compliance. The components are made mainly by plastic injection molding.
The team in Kraków has full design responsibility for the product starting at conceptual phase and lasting up to mass production implementation.
Product Engineer responsibilities start with analysis of customer requirements which often involves travelling and face to face interaction.
Then these requirements are translated into product definition .
PE : creates Bill of Materials ,
gives guidance to CAD designer ,
conducts basic calculations or requests FEA / CFD analyses .
Once product is analytically confirmed next step is to run basic tests on 3D printed parts .
PE oversees sample build and orders laboratory tests .
Successfully confirmed product is released for production, it’s time when main responsibility of PE is to check and release drawings and collaborate with suppliers .
Next stage of the project is production launch at plant when Product Engineer supports pre-serial builds and helps suppliers to debug components .
Once these samples meet requirements they are subjected to validation. After validations is successfully closed PE verifies validation reports and signs validation statement .
One of key responsibilities of PE is to analyze risks and act as a problem-solving team leader if the risks will materialize .
There is one opening for the position of Product Engineer in a Product Development Department . Product Development Department takes over design developed by Business Pursuit team and develops it to the stage where all the technical and quality requirements are met, so the attention to detail is much higher.
Within responsibility of this department is successful introduction of product to mass production as well as certain activities during serial production (change management, cost saving initiatives, warranty improvement and problem solving)
Idea of group is to mix experienced Engineers with more than 10 years of experience with new hires. Experienced team members will provide training and mentoring while new hires will bring fresh ideas and dynamics resulting in agile and efficient team and at the same time make daily duties satisfactory and pleasant.
B. Sc. is a minimum requirement. M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering is a preference
At least 2 years of professional experience is required, experience in automotive, aviation or rolling stock will be an asset
Very good command of English allowing to lead even complex technical discussions via mail or telephone. Command of other languages is an asset.
Knowledge and experience in GD&T & DFMEA
Excellent time management for own tasks
