IoT Experiences is a team of UX architects, designers, researchers and writers within Intel's Internet of Things Group. One of our team's key priorities is to ensure that Intel's Internet of Things platforms deliver a fantastic developer experience.
We are looking for a UX Architect to play a leadership role ensuring we deliver industry-leading developer experiences for Intel's IoT software and tools.
The UX Architect will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning and executing activities for defining and innovating the developer experiences for Intel IoT tools and software.
This includes partnering with peer UX practitioners and cross-disciplinary product teams based in the US and elsewhere to plan and execute our overall approach to research, design, prototyping & experience assessment for the SW, HW, tools and / or kits to which you are tasked with leading.
Exceptional communication, user experience expertise, teamwork and interpersonal skills are an essential part of this role.
Candidates should have experience leading and / or conducting all facets of UX / DX research, architecture & design - including field research, persona development, usage definition, task flow analysis, structured interviews, UX / DX architecture, product content, design, technical writing & iterative UX assessment.
In this role, you will work on an ambitious, geographically distributed, cross-disciplinary team, putting your technical know-how to work to creatively solve challenging problems that are critical to Intel's success.
You should have a "can do" spirit, willingness to consider different technical and business approaches to complex problems and a proven track record of driving from ambiguity to clear and impactful outcomes.
We're seeking an individual with a passion and experience for turning ideas into reality and carrying impact through to Intel's partners and customers to support scaling Intel products.
Experience with current software development tools, processes, and practices at all levels of a solution stack would be extremely valuable.
Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to :
Developing UX strategy, plan, and timelines for all developer experience activities in partnership with US based team
Design, execute, and analyze results of qualitative and quantitative user studies centered on assessing Intel SW and focusing on both attitudinal and behavioral aspects of the developer experience.
Work with teams across Intel to implement changes (both functional and non-functional requirements) that will positively impact developer experience both near and in longer term strategies.
Lead and manage vendor engagements that support various UX / DX deliverables, including research studies, interaction & visual design, and technical writing.
Positioning & communicating project plans, activities, results & impact with planning, product & customer / partner teams - executive level through technical implementation & go-to-market teams
Leading collaborative synthesis of research data; translating into experience design architecture and implications / requirements
Support the creation of experience differentiation and partner roadmaps / strategies for developers that identify the transformative experiences that would provide Intel a competitive edge
Work with teams across Intel to implement changes that will positively impact developer experience both near and in longer term strategies
Lead and manage local and international vendor engagements that support various UX deliverables, including research studies, interaction & visual design, and technical writing
Qualifications or in Human Factors, Design, Experimental / Cognitive Psychology, HCI or related field
7+ years' experience practicing UX architecture, research & / or design
Experience leading developer research and product design
Track record of defining and connecting large-scale, technology-intensive solutions and innovative business models with desired user experience.
Experience in creating detailed experience architecture with explicit ties to full solution architecture, and driving discussions to close the usage / technology / business ambiguity.
Willingness to take calculated risks and stretch to achieve ambitious goals
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills paired with creativity
Excellent English written / verbal communication and presentation skills
High tolerance for a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities
