PubNub is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead an exceptional engineering team in our Katowice, Poland office. The gateway to our technology lies in the SDKs we provide to our customers to integrate our service into their applications.

You will lead a team building these SDKs.

The SDK Team is responsible for a large and diverse portfolio of products, targeting 14+ programming languages and a wide variety of operating systems, environments and platforms across web, mobile, server, desktop and IoT.

PubNub is committed to providing the best developer experience for users of SDKs, tailored to each of these technologies.

Our SDK engineers are experts in their respective technologies. You must be able to facilitate the flow of feedback from the engineers on the team regarding their specific areas of expertise back into the organization, interacting with other engineering, sales, product management, documentation and solution architect teams.

PubNub Engineering is split between two primary locations, Katowice, Poland and San Francisco, United States. You will be a liaison between time zones and must be able to substantially work during the evenings on Monday through Friday so that your team does not have to (as much).

What You Will Be Doing :

Eliminate obstacles preventing the team from providing the best developer experience possible for our customers.

Ensure that your team has the appropriate skills, diversity, and coverage to handle the complex mix of technologies used.

Be execution-oriented with a strong attention to detail and focused on the customer and outcomes

Be able to mentor and delegate.

Strong project management skills are essential. You will track multiple projects, involving a variety of stakeholders, each lasting several months.

A typical project might involve coordinating the implementation of a feature across each of the 14+ SDK families and managing multiple feature implementations in flight.

This will also include a stream of support requests and bug fixes, as well as engineering directed technical improvements.

Have strong communication skills to foster a safe, collaborative environment and be able to mentor others in their communication skills.

Experience & Skills Required :

A Masters or Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience.

10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years of that experience working as an Engineering Manager.

Experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs

Broad experience with a diverse set of technologies

Experience managing an automated quality assurance process

Experience managing remote engineers

Experience managing teams in an Agile environment, Scrum preferred

Previous start-up or small company experience preferred
