Role Overview :

Autonomous vehicle system development with a focus on hardware setup and software integration including deployment as well as testing of the AD system in the vehicle.

Development of real world AV system operation and testing processes in addition to recorded data handling and first level analysis of autonomous vehicle system behavior.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities :

The essential duties and responsibilities include :

  • Integration and deployment of autonomous vehicle software onto the vehicles including support of continuous integration process and release testing.
  • Integrate and maintain computer hardware in the vehicle. Take care of recorded data handling including ingest to server storage if necessary.
  • Design and implement processes to operate autonomous vehicles safely during road testing.
  • Design and develop test scenarios for closed track testing to enable evaluation of autonomous driving behavior in specific situations.
  • Plan and perform real word testing of autonomous systems including data analysis and documentation.
  • Align testing with requirements across the project including processes established by our colleagues in Germany and support refinement of requirements for autonomous systems.
  • Exchange information between remote locations, in particular with colleagues in Germany.
  • Demonstrate prototype vehicles with autonomous vehicle functionality in controlled and open environments
  • Qualifications

  • Strong skills in C / C++ and Python programming in a Linux OS environment including command line operations and Bash scripting.
  • Algorithm development experience and development experience with distributed datasystems and server technology.
  • Experience in data handling and data analysis as well as debugging of complex systems.
  • Ability to interact with other team members and with remote locations over different time zones (Germany, India) and to create a link between these remote locations and the Silicon Valley office.
  • Experience with real time operating systems and scheduling.
  • Working experience developing prototype systems and software solutions for Linux platforms in automotive environments.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Driver’s License
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with automotive system architecture and networks like CAN, LIN, FlexRay, automotive Ethernet and also embedded systems
  • Ability and flexibility to perform vehicle testing on public roads and closed test tracks preferred
  • German language skills a plus
