The German affiliate is Biogen’s largest revenue contributor outside the US. While its business is largely Commercial (i.
e. Sales and Marketing), almost all business functions besides R&D and Production are considered important stakeholders for the local IT team.
The IT Partner reports into the IT Site Head (Munich), will be based in Biogen’s Global Business Services (GBS) center in Warsaw, Poland and
supports the local IT Site Lead in general IT partnership towards the business stakeholders on all levels across functions and business units,
consults departments in all phases of local technology projects owned by the business,
is a subject matter expert and sometimes project manager for selected high priority IT projects which are initiated on global or regional scale with impact on the German / Austrian affiliate,

Assess and channel new demand to the right function / person in the global organization and involve international SME’s where appropriate.
Continuously balance local requirements with global strategy.
Closely collaborate with the local Customer Excellence organization and the IT infrastructure & support team
Proactively consult the business owners on the technology aspects and IT governance steps throughout the project (following Biogen’s Software Development Lifecycle process where appropriate)
Understand and map out business processes to evaluate potential automation
Be a change agent on new IT systems and tools to support business process optimization in Germany & Austria
Support global deployments of new systems to the German & Austrian affiliate
Local / Regional execution of the Biogen IT Roadmap Lead local deployment and UAT for global systems implementations as required.
Perform project management and business analysis where needed.
Ensure benefits realization. Manage project risks by identifying potential bottlenecks or failures and actively drive for resolution / escalation.
Determine the impact of global IT activities on local business (such as planned outages, updates, local regulations etc) and assure minimal business impact.
Support localization (e.g. translation / communication) where needed.
Partner with the IT site head and global experts to prepare product launch related projects with technology / data impact.
Closely collaborate with the peer group in IT Int’l to leverage synergies in deployments
Fluent in English and German language;
Good understanding of business unit processes in the pharma industry;
Initiates, drives and facilitates cross functional business needs discussions identifying areas for further requirement gathering;
Provides solutions to complex problems working closely with all stakeholders; Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, consistent with functional and regional objectives, and frequently serve as precedent for future decisions with regard to technology;
Has knowledge of software lifecycle methodologies;
Proficient in data analysis;
Demonstrates strong project management skills, meeting facilitation, communication and documentation skills
