Job Overview :

The Executive Director is an industry leader responsible for overseeing the operational, financial and quality delivery of the clinical studies conducted within Labcorp s oncology organization.

In this job, we expect you to serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring effective project design and execution while fostering strategic relationships in order to grow the business.

We will trust you the line management and talent development of a group of 4 to 5 Senior Directors and Directors with an emphasis on developing and improving consistent project management excellence.

You will collaborate and support the Project Management Organization to establish project management standards and ensure they are followed by performing regular assessments of Senior Directors and Directors performance on the oversight of projects.

Key Responsibilities for this job include :

  • Full ownership of the global P&L for the TA, including top line growth, operating margin, project cost variance, forecasting, change order management, expense management, and other business metrics
  • Driving a culture of PM excellence whereby Senior Directors, Directors and project leaders have a deep understanding of their role and responsibility to ensure project success for the TA and their clients across the region
  • Implementing and enabling consistent issue escalation and resolution
  • Driving the assignment of staff to understand and perform consistently according to defined operational, financial, and quality performance and process standards
  • Driving the use of established operational, financial and quality metrics and reporting dashboards to assess resource needs and staff performance for direct and in direct reports
  • Driving the development and implementation of consistent project tools, templates and reports that deliver informative performance metrics and other critical information to stakeholders
  • Leading operational, financial, and quality delivery - encompassing consistent quality while mitigating risk and assuring patient safety, data integrity and GCP compliance
  • Acting as a Senior Management escalation point for the Client over the Senior Directors and Directors and core project team and helps the Client to navigate within the company to get to the right solutions as required
  • Driving the allocation of resources ensuring they are aligned with current and forecasted work in terms of capability, quantity, timing, and efficiency
  • Providing line management and technical support to assigned staff, including training, development and performance review of assigned staff
  • Effectively lead in a matrix organization and demonstrates the ability to influence peers and other departments

    Education / Qualifications :

    Required :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred :

  • Advanced degree, PhD and / or MBA
  • Experience : Minimum Required :

    Minimum Required :

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of drug development and clinical research experience (pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO), preferably including 3 or more years leading P1b-PIII clinical trials in respective Therapeutic Area
  • Three (3) or more years of global project leadership and line management experience, ideally in a complex, virtual and matrix environment leading large multi-functional teams
  • On the Job Experience :

  • Working knowledge of ICH Guidelines and GCP including international regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development programs
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access and Power Point)
  • Demonstrated vision, strategy and growth experience on project and functional level
  • Broader level client relationships and business development experience
  • Financial acumen (P&L, budget, forecast, resources etc.) driving profitability
  • Extensive experience and depth of knowledge, broad client exposure, stakeholder network building
  • Responsible for governance oversight
  • Problem solving; end to end management, resolution of complex escalations and financial discussions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills on a portfolio or departmental level
  • Effective leader in a matrix organization and demonstrated ability to influence peers and other departments
  • Demonstrated effective line management skills that attracts, selects, on-boards, develops and retains high performing talent;
  • strengthens and deepens talent bench and succession

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and lead strategic initiatives, drive process improvement and change management activities
