Job Summary

The Specialist, Avantor Business Systems Office, is a new position. This leader will be responsible for the roll out of design, adoption, and execution of the Avantor Business System within a production facility and / or Distribution Center.

The Avantor Business System will be an integral part of the way we run our business for the long-term. The Business System Office.

  • This Avantor Business System role will focus on creating, supporting, and assisting the improvement efforts tied to the company’s local facilitiesmost critical business processes;
  • primarily in the innovation, commercial, and operations functions focused in the operations, warehouse and planning functions but also interfacing with the Safety and Quality groups.

    Through analyzing processes, diagnosing operational challenges, and implementing process changes, the Business System Office will drive continuous improvement and breakthrough performance ultimately shaping the facilities continuous improvement culture.company culture and brand.

    The goal is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods.

  • Working with key leaders within the organization, this leader will build an action plan to identify opportunities and implement tools and processes such as;
  • the strategy deployment process, tiered daily management process and A3 management and problem-solving processes which will ultimately define the lean culture and activities.

    This will require significant change management to effectively embed throughout the growing organization.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Deploy Avantor Business System and organization through partnership and influence at the local facility. of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Implement the Business System including; daily management metrics, review and problem-solving cadence and agenda / format, process to address KPI and CVD (core value drivers);
  • implementing lean tools and training programs to deliver on the facilities continuous improvement strategic plan.

  • Establish a lean deployment program which; ensures the application of globally recognized standards for lean principles and practices, serves as a benchmark for Avantor’s achievements, provides a common roadmap for continuous improvement and workforce development
  • Develop capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream)
  • Coaching and implementation of best in class lean tools and methodology (hands-on experience a must)
  • MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

  • Technical Expertise - Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes
  • Communication - must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms, and courageously speak to all levels of the organization
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Demonstrated successful leadership and proficiency in building and implementing lean business system / practices for global manufacturing organization (in a variety of situations)within a sitesmanufacturing and / or distribution organization.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on approach
  • Strong focus on customer and end user experience
  • Gains traction quickly, demonstrates ambition and high energy
  • Manages conflict
  • Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • BS or BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum five years in a lean / operational leadership role
  • Extensive training and implementation experience in industry leading lean tools and practices
  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general site manager’s perspective
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies
  • Excellent time and project management
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
