COMPETITION OPENING DATE : contract for 36 months within the research project funded by National Science Centre, Poland.
The main tasks of the successful candidate will be to participate in the theoretical research aimed in finding the traces of the particle interactions going beyond the Standard Model in the precise measurement of observables involving the known particles.
In particular, the candidate is expected to participate in research concerning the extension of Higgs mechanism or vector boson sector, processes of the CP, lepton number and lepton universality violation and in developing the analytical and computer tools for the Effective Field Theory formalism.
The candidate must have obtained a doctoral degree not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project.
This period does not include breaks related to maternity leave, holiday on the conditions of maternity leave, paternity leave, parental leave or educational leave, granted on the terms set out in the provisions of the Labor Code or collection sickness benefit or rehabilitation benefit in connection with inability to work, including caused a disease requiring medical rehabilitation.
For women, the indicated 7-year period can be extended by 18 months for each born or adopted child.
There are no constraints as to the nationality of the applicant, although there are no relocation or home-travel funds offered.
Required Research Experiences
Skills / Qualifications
Candidates should have a good knowledge of the quantum field theory, particle physics and experience in theoretical and / or phenomenological studies of extensions of the Standard Model.
Research experience in some of the following subjects would be an asset : Effective Field Theory, CP and flavour violation, extensions of the Higgs sector, vector boson scattering.
Experience in computer programming and software development would be also an advantage.
