Head of the project Prof. Johannes Ehenfried Zschech is looking for candidates to work in a scientific project Synthesis and characterization of novel 2D hybrid materials for supercapacitors Acronym : HYSUCAP programme Call 2019 supported by National Science Centre

Scientific discipline : Material Engineering

  • We are looking for motivated candidates : 1. with a MSc. degree in Materials Science, Physics or 2. experience in solid state or materials characterization;
  • 3. very good knowledge and experience in Computational Science; 4. strong programming skills in methodological development of computational tools;
  • 5. scientific communication skills; 6. ability to engage in cross-disciplinary teams; 7. very good command English.

    Law on Higher Education (Law requires that all PhD students have to be a participant of Doctoral School. Based on this requirement a successful candidate should be admitted to the doctoral school of the University of Warsaw with the possibility of carrying out a doctoral dissertation.

    Required documents :

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing detailed information on the candidate’s education, scientific interests, honours, prizes, scholarships, apprenticeships and scientific internships;
  • Letter of motivation;
  • a copy of diploma for MSc. degree;
  • information on the processing personal data;
  • Description of tasks :

  • establishing a general understanding of the stability of the relationship between the electrochemical properties and microstructure of novel 2D hybrid materials in order to optimize performance and stability of supercapacitors;
  • development of a model for the modelling of materials aging and degradation processes during the use of the materials in SC device based on electrochemical methods and insitu microscopic studies of kinetic processes of novel material;
  • programming of software for the simulation of degradation processes in 2D hybrid materials in dependence on specific conditions;
  • discussion, evaluation and publishing scientific results jointly with team members providing experimental data;
  • presentation of scientific results in cross-disciplinary teams.
  • We offer : A temporary contract with the University of Warsaw for the duration of the project ( 2 years).

    University of Warsaw does not provide an apartment.
