Job Description Summary
Generator Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electromagnetic and cooling design of upgrades (Nuclear, Fossil & Industrial), new build applications (Synchronous Condensers & Fossil) and capital parts.
The team also supports Core Service Engineering with technical expertise for outage activities.
The Generator Electrical team is multi-location and multi-cultural. The team works in collaboration with others including Design Engineering, Technology, and Core Service Engineering to conceptualize, design and document the solution for manufacture, installation, and operation.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Defining the electrical and cooling design and resulting physical configuration
Use of in-house calculation tools as well as commercial tools such as Ansys Maxwell, Fluent and Matlab
Work closely with the other engineering teams and provide support where needed
Participate to Root Cause Analysis
Participate to customer meeting if required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent learning through experience.
Desired Characteristics
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, and execute.
Practical experience in use of engineering tools (Ansys Maxwell, Fluent, Matlab)
Pragmatic outlook.
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Experience in electrical design engineering in the domain of electrical machines
Contribute with innovative concept ideas in New Product Introduction (NPI) definition and execution phase
Have a Lean culture and propose ideas for continuous improvement in the electrical calculation and engineering process
