Oracle Hospitality Global Business Unit is developing its industry-leading Food & Beverage and Hotel products. With products across the world that span the range from the neighborhood restaurant, to the large sports arena, to international hotel chains, to airports around the world -

As part of the HGBU Global Product Development organization, you will develop products that attract new customers and drive our current customer to better service and more profitability.

Role :

As a Functional Architect you will assist Product Owner and Development Teams in ongoing activities, especially concentrating on gathering and translation of legal and business requirements into functional design and applicable user stories.

The Functional Architect will bring to the position a high level of energy, a passion to learn new technologies while delivering excellent customer service, and the ability to serve as an expert in their specialized product and market.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Food & Beverage and Hotel industry operations and trends, conceptual and practical understanding software development life cycles.

Responsibilities :

  • Understanding the requirements, by identifying the stakeholders, analyzing legal, business and market aspects and extracting those of architectural significance
  • Help in formulating the design, by creating a solution structure which will meet the various requirements, balancing the goals, and constraints.
  • Communicating the functional architecture, by presenting various views of the system appropriate to the different audiences -
  • Development, Strategy, Consulting, Pre-sales and Sales organizations when needed.

  • Actively supporting agile development teams, by making sure that the developers are able to realize the expected architecture and meet the requirements effectively.
  • Verifying the implementation, ensuring the delivered system is consistent with agreed architecture and will meet the requirements.
  • Qualifications :

  • BS degree and minimum 4 years of experience as an industry business or software analyst
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Preferred related application knowledge for hospitality (Hotel, Restaurant, Retail) products and industry or / and product localization across different regions and countries.
  • Experience working in international and distributed teams.
  • Experience working in agile development organization would be significant advantage.
  • Good computer / systems background : PC platforms, Windows Operating Systems, Oracle, SQL, MS Office applications
  • Very good written and spoken English is a must.

    Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution.

    Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project / product on schedule and within budget.

    As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications.

    Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral.

    Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

    Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.

    BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
