WHAT’S YOUR NEWROLE ABOUT?

As aSoftware Engineering Team Leader, you will be accountable for building and retaining a 'Dream team' that has the skills , passion and knowledge necessary to solve the business problems and meet thebusiness needs.

In this role, you will provide aleadership to your direct reports, by means such as coaching , mentoring and delegation, enabling them and establishing a high performingsoftware engineering culture within the organization.

You are expected toprovide a vision on day-to-day tasks and long-term strategy defined by the CTO.You will ensure team motivation, induction, appraisal and goal setting processfor your team are done in high standard.

You will be responsible for making surethe team follows the Stats Perform development standards, processes and qualityof software delivered.

The Team Leader role is a supporting role to the teamand not a "Command and Control" role.

HERE’SYOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

  • Recruit,lead, motivate and inspire a team of 10+ Software Engineers
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure that the team achieves their commitments.
  • Ensure dev team understanding and delivery of product roadmap
  • Manage risks (along with Product Owner)
  • Ensure there is good communication between various technology groups (infrastructure, architecture, software development, support)
  • Ensure that maximum value is being gained from direct reports to drive productivity
  • Work alongside Software Engineering Manager and HR to ensure appraisals and personal development plans are in place and executed.
  • To Identify any individual or project blockers or issues are removed and escalated if needed
  • Maintain close relationships with other Team Leaders in the office to ensure consistent management approach across the office
  • Manage training, promotion and succession for all direct reports
  • Ensure direct reports go through PERFORM induction & orientation process
  • Maintain and support holiday plans for all direct reports
  • Measure and improve productivity and quality of direct reports through 1on1 meetings
  • Supervise, mentor and grow team members
  • Organizing on call support when necessary
  • Reporting on team performance metrics
  • DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

  • Come from a Software Engineeringbackground
  • Knowledge of processes in SoftwareEngineering
  • Experience in leading a team (2+ yearsof line management experience of a team of at least 10 desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Understanding of project deliverymethodologies (Agile, PMI)
  • Easiness in building and retainingrelations with stakeholders
  • PERSONALCOMPETENCIES REQUIRED
