This varied and exciting role forms two essential primary activities : supporting new product initiatives (NPIs) with brilliant launch execution, also value creation identification and delivery for Pharma NPI.
Source new and novel materials on time for new products launches; develop the product platform sourcing strategy for new products.
Ensure all procurement activities are completed for on-time NPI launch execution. Working closely with material commodity owners for the full set of materials required for the NPI launch, at a central and site level.
Early involvement in product pipeline to ensure R&D teams actively consider design-to-value / speed to market trade-offs in all new pipeline development, including working with R&D Procurement colleagues.
Best in class collaboration with R&D colleagues, Pharma Franchise, NPI leads, R&D Procurement etc.
Deliver excellent project management and tracking of performance including maintenance and improvement of dashboards and processes to ensure optimised and harmonised approaches across teams / locations where appropriate.
Ensure risk management reviews and mitigation plans are completed to ensure robust endorsed supply chains for NPIs.
Deliver Best in Class Levels of Value Engineering Opportunities and Delivery.
Identify, support and help drive Portfolio Optimisation, Cost Savings and Value engineering opportunities through leading cost workshops, product tear downs, driving projects across matrix teams, relating to NPI products.
Collaborate with Pharma Franchise Medicine Supply Chain leads to drive value engineering opportunities, aligned with business needs and strategy for NPI.
To strategically engage with and understand the business requirements of stakeholders and business partners and to position the Procurement value proposition, on local, regional and global levels, in particular for NPI.
Ensure commodity team projects and initiatives are supported at franchise level for NPI.
External supplier relationships - build strategic relationships with key suppliers for new and novel materials at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven by working closely with the commodity owners, as applicable.
3 5 years’ experience in direct procurement (pharmaceutical / chemical / cosmetic / FMCG sectors are preferred).
Proven negotiations and contract management skills.
Experience of managing relations with senior stakeholders.
Research and analytical skills are required to develop solutions to complex problems and analyse complex financial proposals.
Problem solving skills required to resolve potential supply issues under time pressures, and to ensure on-time launch execution.
Strong Project management skills.
Technical understanding of supply base manufacturing processes; ability to understand complex technical product issues.
Knowledge of Six & Lean Sigma would be an asset.
Ability to work in complex matrix organisations is preferred.
English proficiency (written and spoken).
