A Senior Engineering Manager with day-to-day responsibility of working with Business, program managers, Technical Leads, Architects, QA and team Leads to ensure projects are successfully executed, including budget, resources, schedule, and ensure development methodology is followed and quality criteria are met.
Along with project results, the engineering manager has day to day people leadership responsibilities to provide ongoing and timely feedback to employees, provide recommendations overall compensation, provide guidance on priorities and trade-
offs and represent the Customer Experience Platforms (CXP) organization’s goals and strategies to the local team.
We are seeking high energy and experienced applicants who possess the following skills and experience :
10+ years of experience in managing / developing complex software applications which include build, test, deploy and support, preferably with Saas development experience and leading the team that develops them!
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Critical thinking and big picture understanding of how applications work, especially cloud-based Saas applications
Excellent Communication - verbal and written and willing to work with remote teams who are geographically dispersed : US, India, Poland
Flexible and adaptable : Ability to switch gears in various high-stress situations and apply themselves to quickly learning new technologies and adopting new methodologies.
Accountability : You should be a results-oriented teammate who leads by example, holds self-accountable for performance, takes absolute ownership, and champions all aspects of customer, employee and project initiatives.
Efficient and Creative : You should be able to think creatively to find the optimal solution to problems or ask the right questions.
Always be ready to learn new technology, tools and processes
In-depth knowledge of one or more Software Development Methodologies including Agile
Ability to multitask and problem-solve within specifics of project of large scope

What you’ll do :
People Leader who provides guidance and direction as needed, reliable performance feedback and coaching, who ties the company and organization’s goals and strategy to the day to day work and represents the organization to the local department and the department to the larger geographically disperse organization.
This is especially critical being a remote department.
People Leader who provides ongoing career development guidance to Cisco employees.
Hiring with diverse interview participants and staffing the overall team appropriately with diverse backgrounds, required skillsets and range of grade levels for overall team growth.
Make appropriate budget and skillset trade-offs for employee vs contractor / temporary staffing to ideally maintain a 60% / 40% or better balance.
Works with business, Program manager, tech leads, and pod leaders to ensure assigned program / features are staffed, scheduled and executed upon efficiently with high quality and ISO compliance.
Work onsite with team for day to day interactions, removing roadblocks and moving program status forward to meet results in an ISO compliant manner, looking for trending in execution / operations to improve efficiency.
Work with local leaders and WPR related to site activities, workspace and lab needs.
Lead change by identifying impacts of project / people, building awareness and support for change within the organization, and supplying to development of training.
Evaluate project results against success metrics. Champion changes to processes, resources, and solutions to gain productivity and / or improve end product
Support cloud-based applications in the field
Reporting out regularly to the stakeholders on the project status and tailoring the details of the reporting to the audience
Desired Skills Mandatory
BS / BE or MIS / CIS degree and 10+ years of Engineering Management Experience
Full understanding of ISO9001 / ISO27001
Working knowledge of Customer Data Protection Requirements
Working knowledge of Agile or LEAN and Continuous Integration DLCs
Highly proficient with Microsoft Project and / or Smartsheet and Microsoft Excel
Highly proficient with Microsoft Power Point
Familiar with software languages and platforms such as :
A strong technical background, with the ability to supply to architectural decisions
Knowledge of best security practices as it applies to software engineering
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Willingness to engage in a culture of open communication, Agile delivery, ownership, and accountability
Nice to have
Experience with operational support of cloud-based applications and Saas
Experience with defect management systems for example : Jira or Rally
Experience with Atlassian products like Git, JIRA
