This Relationship Manager role is a critical position responsible for assisting emerging market clients in Poland in managing cash management, FX and raising funds in the loan and capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with regional and global parent account teams within our global corporate bank.
The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our emerging market clients in Poland and to create new growth opportunities in a rapidly growing area of our local franchise.
Provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including day-to-day cash management, trade, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loans, debt capital markets (fixed income and bank), share repurchase, and interest rate, commodity hedging
Expand a portfolio of accounts with varying / complex financial needs with the objective of revenue growth and good credit quality in line with Citi’s credit standards, policies and processes
Drive global communication and interaction with parent account management teams around the world, with emphasis on Asia
Cross-sell banking products, including cash management, trade finance, trade services, structured trade products, foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income, loans (including syndicated, bilateral) and capital market products
Responsible for all credit aspects of the relationship including annual reviews, early problem recognition and remedial management
Responsible for developing an understanding of all credit, transactional and franchise risks in coordination with senior coverage officers to facilitate deal execution and risk mitigation processes, including the preparation of credit approvals, obtaining Capital and Risk approvals, and supervising transaction return calculations
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Engage and work in team projects
Ability to drive prospecting incl. connecting and sourcing opportunities through Embassies and other organizations connected with in particular clients from Asian markets
Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
Continuously stay informed of best practices and market and industry trends
5-8 years of experience
MBA or Master's Degree in Business preferred
Proven and progressive related lending / credit experience or equivalent product experience
Demonstrated credit skills, including a background in credit
Experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and the lending and credit approval process
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
Comprehensive knowledge of relationship management, credit analytics and cash management, markets, credit, capital markets and investment banking
Experience from Asian markets is a benefit (although not a must)
Being a self-starter, driven
Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
