The Technology Security Services organisation in Credit Suisse exists to provide a range of security services for the Bank, and works with the IT Risk organisation to protect, detect and thwart any security threats, managing compliance regulation and preventing data breaches.

Within this, the Network Security team is responsible for security services at the network level including encryption, access control, protection against internet threats like malware and data leakage, and policies and practices to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the Bank’s data when in transit.

The Network DMZs are a critical element of Credit Suisse network and systems infrastructure. They represent the front-line in terms of Cyber threats, they enable Internet (web) access and external Email for all CS staff, and they host Internet Facing Applications (IFAs) used by clients of the Bank.

Growing demands from security systems and business applications have made the DMZs more complex over recent years, giving rise to many components owned and supported by different teams across CTO.

Over the past year, the DMZ Service Management Project has defined a proposed DMZ service and its components, associated processes, the organizational structure, governance, the manner of interacting with customers and other CTO teams, and pulled together a range of supporting information.

The purpose of the IT Service Manager (Network DMZs) is to join the Network Security team, make these elements operational and to manage the functionality of the DMZs as an IT service.

Your principal responsibilities would be :

  • The Network DMZ's are made up of a number of individual components and services, which are provisioned and delivered by other GCTO teams.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that these form a coherent whole so as to deliver the overall DMZ service.

  • Execution of policy and decisions made by the DMZ Governance Committee. Preparation for and hosting of regular Committee meetings.
  • Negotiation and management of operational and support agreements with other CTO teams.
  • Interaction with business-facing technology teams and owners of applications hosted in the DMZs.
  • Acting as a point of contact for DMZ-related project and operational issues.
  • Day-to-day management of the DMZ Service Management team.
  • You will have the opportunity to have a wide engagement within CS to :
  • inform business partners about DMZ services and plans.
  • gather new requirements and reflect these into development plans.
  • ensure other CTO projects, that may affect the DMZs, understand the DMZ implications of their work.
  • Open to discussing flexible / agile working.

    You Offer

  • You have the following experience :
  • IT service or product management role experience.
  • You have previously collaborated with business partners, either in an operational or a project role.
  • Experience in leading a technical or service team.
  • You possess sound overall knowledge (not necessarily at technical detail) of enterprise IT infrastructure and services in order to gain sufficient understanding of all the components that have a role to play in the delivery of the DMZ service.
  • Ideally, you should have knowledge of information security challenges, typical policies and technical solutions.
  • You should possess the following skills :

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of business partners and contributors across the organisation.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team and other contributors to the DMZ service.
  • Attention to detail yet able to see the bigger picture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ideally, an appropriate level of formal service management qualifications (e.g. following the ITIL framework).
