We are looking for exceptional Engineering Lead to lead Playbook Engineering’s Service Delivery division which ensures IT support and delivery services are carried out in accordance with agreed SLAs and quality standards.
Service Delivery is managing and improving all aspects of IT service design and delivery, including developer productivity tools, business systems, service desk and production infrastructure.
You will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of infrastructure and operations at Playbook Engineering, enabling Product Development efficiency at scale.
We are looking for person who can help team members to develop and support them whenever necessary, set priorities and get results across boundaries.
You will hire and chose personnel to ensure the efficient team operation.
You will report directly to Chief Technology Officer and work with other Engineering Leads and Head of Security. You will lead a division of around 25 engineers and have 2 to 3 direct reports, teams include :
Infrastructure & Reliability team, responsible for core infrastructure, devops tools and practices, production environments and services delivery in accordance to SLAs and other standards;
Support & Monitoring team, which monitors our infrastructure on 24 / 7 basis and triages support requests.
Our stack? We are 100% cloud based, we use Google Cloud Platform for our core infrastructure, Gitlab for code and CI pipelines, Argo CD for CD pipelines and Kubernetes (GKE + Anthos) for workload management.
For observability we use Kibana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana and Jaeger. All infrastructure is maintained with Terraform and Ansible.

What will you be doing?
Lead DevOps projects and help define DevOps strategy, architecture and processes.
Architect and design cloud based solutions
Oversee deployment standards and plans for services running on top of cloud-native technologies
Collaborate with the teams and other Engineering Leads in creating the Service Delivery / Operations roadmap. Manage backlog in accordance with priorities
Collaborate with Head of Security to ensure proper level of security of infrastructure and services delivered
Creating and maintaining infrastructure and architecture documentation
Develop new ideas and strategies to maintain or improve on the quality-of-service delivery
Contact with 3rd party / vendors companies to foster long-lasting relationships and collaboration
Report on capacity levels, the state of infrastructure and team and infrastructure budgets.
Manage, mentor and grow people by developing technical and soft skills
Support open communication culture, encourage creativity and risk-taking
Discover team members’ training needs
Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
Realize OKRs & KPIs mutually agreed upon with CTO
5+ years of experience in industry,
Experience in leading overall infrastructure for a complex organization and network
Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption
Experience with Cloud and Cloud-native technologies, experience with Google Cloud Platform is a big plus.
Experience with regulatory compliance issues, as well best practices in application and network security
Experience with IaC using Terraform / Ansible
Experience in reporting KPIs at the board level.
