Your future team focuses on creating a Data Lake - an environment which contains all the data that the company acquires (several PB), allows data scientists and analysts to easily access various data sets and finally do complex data analysis using the tools of their choice.
You will be a key member of the IHS Markit Data Lake DevOps team. Key responsibilities include :
Building AWS infrastructure as a code and supporting various apps and services.
Automation of end-to-end release cycle.
Work with Product and Development teams, assisting in their projects to deliver new functionality.
Continuous improvement of infrastructure components and Cloud Security, services reliability.
Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
Participate in on-call DevOps Rota : supporting regular releases, change management, incident escalations, etc.
You are DevOps professional or experienced Developer / Systems Administrator desiring to move into DevOps.
Key Qualifications and Skills :
Strong experience in DevOps or alternatively in Software Development / Systems Administration background.
Experience with AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
Knowledge of DevOps and CI / CD practices
Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, SaaS design principles, microservices, and containers.
Development skills with Python and / or Bash
Nice to have :
Knowledge of Kubernetes / Docker
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies like PostgreSQL, Nginx, Packer, etc.
Experience shipping containerized applications with CI / CD pipelines using GitLab CI or similar with Docker
Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
Experience with Cloud Monitoring and Alert Management : PagerDuty / Datadog or similar
