Purpose of the Position :
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for various assigned projects concerning development, design, construction, or installation of buildings and facilities.
Provide civil engineering services for site wide infrastructure from concept to implementation, including coordination and overall integration of architecture and engineering projects.
Responsible for daily operations and maintenance as it pertains to civil engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions : (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Responsible for coordination of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical design and construction for all of MBUSI.
Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine the most simple,, efficient, and cost effective approach to solving engineering tasks.
Develop specifications, scope of work, and bid documents for new construction projects.
Assist purchasing with bidder lists and bid reviews. Check and inspect vendor designs and construction for quality and adherence to standards.
Perform field work necessary to gather field data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
Coordinate contractors as it pertains to facility infrastructure projects.
Develop and track project schedules and costs.
Develop and maintain procedures for all existing building and grounds together with facility department and shop owners.
Coordinate and align with regulating agencies (ADEM, ALDOT, Army Corps of Engineers, etc.).
Perform lifecycle analysis and develop long-term plans accordingly.
Maintain documentation and CAD standards.
Provide environmental support as required to maintain benchmark status.
Manage and perform financial controlling of construction managers as well as civil, architectural and engineering planning.
Coordinate and interface between MBUSI and MB Germany / Production Planning. Transfer the German corporate standards and best knowledge into MBUSI via telephone, video conferences and travel.

Financial authority and responsibility :
Education : Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field or the equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
Experience : A minimum of 3 years of experience in working with factory planning and / or project and construction management.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc. :
Knowledge and application of Standard Building Code
Knowledge of environmental best practices and permitting processes
Solid understanding of facility scope development and costing
Working knowledge of MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate presentation (preparation and delivery) skills
Intermediate facilitation and project management skills
Preferred Skills :
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling program
German language skills
Professional Engineering certification(s)
