The Global Lead SQA Engineer (GLSQAE) drives systematic and continuous supplier quality performance within his / her commodity, promoting improvement and development based on measured data and robust risk management and is recognized as the Global SQA commodity expert.

In close liaison with Lead Buyer and Lead Engineer the GLSQAE reviews and develops to the supplier commodity strategies, based on current performance and future needs.

He / she aligns, plans and executes necessary improvement initiatives identified in the strategy. On a regular basis, he / she analyses the supplier performance related to his / her commodity and conducts regular reviews with the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) team, supports and drives improvements related to suppliers on the Business Critical List (BCL) within their commodity.

The role at Katowice is a great opportunity to be part of the continuous Improvement activities in this commodity group and ensure that these improvements are encompassed during the on-cycle activities.

Within this role you would be responsible for :

  • Support Global Lead Buyers in the definition and execution of supplier commodity strategies and ensure that SPM / SQA aspects are appropriately considered including in the contractual commitments.
  • Based on the commodity BT strategy, anticipates Supplier Improvement and Development needs, plans and drive the implementation.

  • Monitoring the lagging key performance indicators and based on risk analysis identify and prioritize action plans based on a PDCA approach Support the Lead Buyer in the Supplier Approval Assessments (SAAs) and applicable governance activities based around the governance plan developed with the cross-functional team (Lead Buyer and Lead Engineer).
  • In conjunction with the SQA Office oversee, harmonize and also execute as appropriate the Part Approval Process (PAP) for the defined commodity suppliers based on the global planning business demands.

  • Lead Supplier improvement and development initiatives within the assigned commodity in close cooperation with the respective Global Lead Buyer and Lead Engineer and drives the progress.
  • Reports the related progress to the plans during the monthly review cycle with the appropriate Product Unit Leader Participates in specific commodity cross-functional improvement activities including inputs into the module centres to drive standardization that support the building block business approach (e.
  • g Supplier Continuous Improvement workshops, Joint Design Definition Process (JDDP), Innovation workshops).

  • Focus on developing a strong global network of SQA Engineers considering the applicable special processes applicable to the commodity.
  • Coach and mentor the network of SQA Engineers and / or service providers by exception to ensure that the appropriate skills are established to meet the specific competencies related to the commodity.
  • In conjunction with the Product Unit Leader ensure the competency and skills of the SQA commodity network is baseline and visualized to support people development plans to enhance the overall competency of the commodity group.

  • Drives regular feedback loop from the project execution SQ cycle to identify best practices and improvement strategies for his / her commodities.
  • Other responsibilities

  • Drive the appropriate problem-solving necessary actions following the BT process and tools ensuring accuracy and speed to solve issues are meeting BT expectation.
  • This includes one pager management for applicable suppliers on the BCL for quality related issues in close cooperation with the Global Lead Buyer.

    Instigate robust problem-solving methodologies to ensure long term preventive actions are installed and lessons learned are fed back into the commodity team and the Product Group

  • Simplifies, Standardizes, Improve and optimise commodity specific working documents and potentially the process within the process framework landscape with close collaboration of their Product Unit Leader, the procurement and the SQA Process and Tools team.
  • Drive change to measure and reduce Cost of Poor Quality within his / her commodities in order to improve Customer satisfaction and Revenue.
  • Contribute and guide the change from PAP process to PPAP according to the commodity specifics and business strategic approach in order to go a stronger and more value-add Quality Assurance supplier relationship.

  • Develop with the Engineering the best DFMEA and PFMEA approach and drives standards and best practices implementation across the supply base
  • Qualifications

    Your EXPERIENCE AND Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Preferred 5 8 years of experience in a Supplier Quality role.
  • Practical experience in supplier audits
  • Experience in Integrated Supplier Assessment Framework processes
  • Experience in Quality / Product Planning
  • Experience in Operational Methods like 6-Sigma, Lean etc.
  • Problem-Solving
  • Fluent English
  • Strong Team Player
  • Good knowledge of end customer regulations / specifications
  • Other requirements

  • Proficiency in problem-solving and other quality methods and tools of resolution / root cause analysis (8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) etc.)
  • Utilization of tools like SMIS (Supply Management Information System), ERP systems, SharePoint, Project Tracking Databases (PTD)
  • Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position / role
  • Leadership and strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Solid knowledge of key procurement and quality processes
  • Expert product / process knowledge for the assigned commodities / special processes

  • Travel would be in Europe (70%) but potential global (less than 5%)- flexibility is key
