Position Summary

As an Engineer III supporting voice and network infrastructure, you will be responsible for global telecommunication and network infrastructure, this includes analysis, design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and administration of the telecommunication and network infrastructure.

This position is responsible for participating in long-term planning that ensures the telecommunication and network infrastructure meets current and future business requirements at Energizer locations globally.

This voice / network engineering position is responsible for building a reliable telecommunication and network infrastructure, set of processes, and telecommunication and network infrastructure to support Energizer’s growth and demands.

Provide reports, complete requests for new service, determine methodology for installing telephone service, determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications, call switches, test trunks, test links and installs communication circuits.

Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.

Specific Accountabilities

  • On call support 24x7 that provides administration, advanced support and operational management of telecommunication infrastructure
  • Define and implement strategies that govern their area including lifecycle management, secure operations, monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning of voice infrastructure
  • Identifies and evaluates technical solutions for voice infrastructure addressing both short and long term business initiatives
  • Provides technical expertise for operational voice infrastructure related issues and maintains the stability of voice infrastructure
  • Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Administrative experience and working knowledge of legacy Avaya PBXs
  • Administrative experience and working knowledge of Avaya VOIP
  • Administrative experience and working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager
  • Experience in other PBX key systems
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple project deadlines and milestones
  • Troubleshoot and repair Voice & Video Systems with the assistance of site coordinators and vendors
  • Proactively monitor utilization and status and status of telecommunication and network infrastructure
  • Design and implement enterprise call flow, route plans, route lists, device profiles, calling search spaces, and partitions
  • Work with service providers to order voice circuits (SIP, PRI, POTS) and coordinate delivery of phone services to sites;
  • to include SIP and PRI configuration

  • Collaborate with service providers to investigate services and provide solutions to meet the telephony requirements of the business
  • Act as escalation point for management and troubleshooting of Cisco Collaboration environment (Call Manager, UCCX, Unity Connection, and Webex)
  • Troubleshoot and configure Cisco Unity Connection features; to include call handlers and call routing rules
  • Troubleshoot and configure Cisco Voice Gateways, SIP Trunks, Phones, and call features
  • Troubleshoot and configure Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX); to include call agents, teams, applications, and scripts
  • Desire to stay up on best practices, tends, and technologies in voice and network infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of EIGRP, BGP, layer two switching, VLANS, Spanning-Tree, and layer three switching
  • Demonstrated ability in the area of Vendor Management(support, installations, projects)
  • Ability to work with diverse and distributed teams
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience will be evaluated
