QIAGEN, Inc. is currently looking for a Customer Contracts Administrator to join our growing Sales Contracts Team. The successful candidate will work to perform day-
to-day contract administration and risk assessment / mitigation. The Customer Contract Administrator will act as the primary interface with internal and external customers in conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation and contract administration.
The candidate will support the contracts team to accomplish departmental key objectives and goals. Because of successful candidate's involvement in matters related to his role and job responsibilities, this position would also require successful candidate to communicate frequently, and effectively, with the rest of the US contracts team, but would also need to work independently, and with a significant amount of initiative, on any given, assigned task(s).
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and executing standard contracts using QIAGEN’ templates (e.g., Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Master agreements, etc.
AND non-standard contracts.
Creating and reviewing contract amendments.
Maintaining standard contract templates and pre-approved alternative language.
Effectively utilizing and applying previously agreed upon contract language and fallback provisions to mitigate QIAGEN’s risk.
Responsible for carefully analyzing the details of contract documents to ensure that (i) terms are equitable for the company, and (ii) that management is properly instructed on terms, risks and expectations for both parties.
Reviewing and responding to Solicitations and Tenders.
Collaborating with product specialists, sales associates, business leaders, and other functional experts.
Establishing and maintain cross-functional internal and client relationships to ensure and foster the highest levels of communication.
Coordinating actions with the organization’s stakeholders and display the ability to escalate potential issues to supported teams and management as needed.
Maintaining electronic files of in-process or executed contracts.
Administering a contract database, including data entry, and providing reports on request.
Performing administrative duties required to complete tasks and responsibilities within the scope of the position.
Monitoring Contract compliance
Performing other job-related duties as necessary, required or assigned.
High proficiency in English required (both verbal and written).
A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a contract specialist / contract manager with demonstrated ability in contract administration, negotiation and management.
Experience in Healthcare / Medical device / Life science industry preferred.
Elementary knowledge of Common Law or Legal background preferred.
Experience with US contracting is a plus.
General computer proficiency and working knowledge of MS Office applications suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with MS SharePoint is desirable.
Advanced understanding of contract / Purchase Order terms and conditions and good knowledge of the government contracting process including sole source and competitive procurements.
Background in the use and application of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) preferable.
