About the Opportunity
The APS Design Architect is responsible for the detailed design of Avaya solutions from creation of design documentation, translations of pre-
sales designs / HLDs into detailed LLDs / functional solution overviews and supporting project managers in drafting project plans.
This covers green-field implementations, upgrades and expansions of the all products within the Avaya portfolio.
The Design Architect will in addition provide customer consultation and technical leadership as well as designs for large distributed and complex solutions.
They will provide guidance and leadership for lesser experienced engineers and 3rd party engineers during basic tasks including installation and set rollout.
Activities & Responsibilities
Works with limited guidance on projects within defined criteria.
Work with and supports Avaya Project Manager for implementation planning and coordination
Engaged on major projects and large customer deployments as the technical design lead.
Creates low level design for the solution
Translates pre-sales designs / HLD into detailed LLD / functional solution overviews
Deep understanding of best practice documentation and project execution methodologies.
Close alignment with project management, pre-sales and sales ASAs
Undertake audits of customer’s network or existing telephony solutions
Provide support and mentoring to peers and Avaya 3rd party and partners on troubleshooting and resolving installation issues
Work to build the knowledge across the team by contributing fully to internal knowledge sharing sessions and create and share Methods of Procedure and Workaround Guides in relation to Avaya Aura.
Presents technical issues to small groups
Support and provide input into delivery of new tools
Support and provide input into new product introduction processes
BE Degree from leading engineering college with 5+ years’ experience in Customer Engagement Solution Architecture - typically requires 5 -
8 years of practical experience working with Avaya technology platforms gained in the field
Technical skills applicable to Avaya technologies or other vendor with communication background, experience in the techniques that lead to, the production and design of complex communication systems.
Including requirements discovery and analysis, formulation of solution context, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and design configuration.
Proven strong background in traditional telecoms voice systems VOIP, SIP, networking / TCP IP
Knowledge of different database technologies MSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cache. Knowledge of customer engagement technology via voice, video and data network requirements for optimal performance, data network & video certificates are a bonus.
Strong skills in applications development mainly within web communication and customer engagement technology a bonus.
Strong communication and relationship building skills. Skilled in socializing technical architectures among customer organization within Business, IT and operations
Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-
scale, business centric and process based applications.
Practical understanding essential of SIP, and server platforms and cloud solutions including Linux, Microsoft, AVP, VMWare, AWS, Google Cloud
People management skills able to interact technically at all levels and demonstrate skills in influencing and empathy, as well as being analytical and motivated
Track record of success
Flexible approach to working hours.
Self-directed, requires only occasional direction by a more senior resource
