The Marquee team at Goldman Sachs is responsible for delivering digital products to our institutional client base. We design and build highly scalable web platforms that provide access to Goldman Sachs content, portfolio analytics, risk, and execution services.
These tools help to transform and simplify client experiences while generating new revenue streams and business models for a leader in global financial markets.
Marquee is a product driven team, composed of talented and passionate product managers, designers, and engineers working to change the expectation of institutional finance.
WHO WE LOOK FOR
As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Marquee team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the availability of the platform, managing and supporting highly-
available and reliability of distributed systems of the production environment, building tools to reduce toil and increase insight into trouble spots.
You will work with a number of proprietary configuration management and deployment systems in close collaboration with other GS teams.
This is an opportunity to join our newly formed EMEA Marquee team and work closely with local clients and internal stakeholders to automate our Securities Division businesses in the region.
Our team are responsible for reflecting EMEA client requirements and market structure in our global strategy, and delivering to this strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Application SDLC, deployment and runtime management with a goal of reducing product cycle time
Infrastructure Services DMZ, proxies, load balancing and firewalls
Risk Management Resiliency design & planning, collection and analysis of availability metrics
Technical support and monitoring of Marquee platform for our global client base
Manage all incidents in Marquee environments and take any follow-up actions necessary to ensure system stability
Develop solutions for business problems in various technologies with support from our global team of experts, maintaining 50 / 50 split between support and project work.
Own integration and deployment processes and tools to ensure build and system quality
Work with various technologies including Java, C++, Linux, SQL and Goldman Sachs' proprietary technologies : Slang and SecDb
Develop reports on releases, issues, dependencies for engineering teams
Manage controls and processes for support and deployments
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Experience with at least one programming language, and eagerness to develop this further and learn.
Ability to work under pressure, as outages in our businesses are extremely time sensitive.
Three or more years industry experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer role
Great communication skills as daily coordination with our global team is essential.
Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team
Ability to problem solve
EXPERT KNOWLEDGE IN ONE OR MORE OF :
ElasticSearch and MongoDB
Networking including TCP, HTTP, DNS, SSL certificates
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience with internet facing applications
Experience with continuous deployment / delivery practices
Experience with cloud computing systems
Experience working with content delivery networks
Experience working in a regulated environment
