Regional Lease Specialist

The position reports to the Global Process Owner Lease Administration, and works in collaboration with Global Real Estate & Facilities Management (RFEM) leadership, REFM team members, Accounting to Reporting teams, external service providers / partners, and K-C business units.

This role will maintain a complete, accurate, and timely database for the region’s portion of K-C’s global lease portfolio.

The Regional Lease Specialist will champion regional adherence to new global lease administration policies and corporate financial policies related to lease processes.

The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise to customers, within the region, regarding lease administration matters, lease accounting, and the proper interpretation of ASC 842 (and IFRS 16 where applicable).

Job description and responsibilities :

  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance and utilization of K-C’s global lease portfolio, including collection and coordination of regional data to provide necessary information for the REFM and business teams to make timely decisions.
  • Participate in development and testing of Global Lease Administration processes.
  • Develop and maintain a proficiency in the use of CoStar software.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and proper interpretation of ASC 842 (and IFRS 16 where applicable), providing guidance to regional business units and procurement contacts, when determining if a lease exists within an agreement and how to manage various lease scenarios for proper recording in CoStar system to generate proper accounting & reporting.
  • Complex scenarios can and should be escalated to Global Process Owner Lease Administration.

  • Generate accurate and timely lease amortization schedules.
  • Provide timely responses to queries regarding ledger postings from CoStar system.
  • Perform lease abstraction activities which involves the extracting of lease option and lease responsibility information from lease documents and entry of the data into CoStar system
  • Provide timely responses on open queries to 3rd party service provider, ensuring a complete and accurate global lease portfolio.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with contacts responsible for authorizing payment of real estate leases.
  • Act as liaison between 3rd party services provider and K-C contacts. Maintain current contact information within CoStar.

    Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree in a finance / accounting related subject
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, and local GAAP where applicable, is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the financial and business implications of general business practices is necessary.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and work independently in challenging situations with minimal supervision, while maintaining corporate standards
  • Results oriented with strong initiative
  • Strong skills in analysis and systems logic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with skills to influence.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Strong collaboration skills to interact effectively with all levels within and outside the enterprise

  • Years’ experience :

  • A minimum of 3 years plus experience in fixed asset, lease or general accounting for a leading corporation.
  • Language requirement :
