Description

CICS Engineer for Core Infrastructure Services / Enterprise Services team. The Enterprise Services team provides technical and engineering Services for Citi's Mainframe environments, globally.

Successful candidate will be a member of the global CICS team, collaborating with colleagues in all regions, to provide superior support to application and infrastructure teams world-wide.

  • Provide support for the CICS environments.
  • Configuration and administration of IBM’s CICS software.
  • Assist in evaluating software packages and methodologies; setting in-house standards and guidelines for the CICS and CICS related environments.
  • Configuration and administration of CICS related 3rd party system software.
  • Provide guidance to the operations areas and the application programming staffs in the use of CICS and CICS related environments.
  • Develop, maintain, test and document extensions to CICS to enhance performance, availability, operability, serviceability and security of the CICS environments.
  • Provision of Level 3 and Level 4 technical support for CICS Systems issues during the normal working day. Out of hours on call support will be pre-
  • scheduled and monitored to comply to local labor regulations.

  • Monitor and report on assigned projects.
  • Act as a CICS resource for internal and external projects.
  • Provide problem determination for CICS, CICS related software products, and CICS applications.
  • Monitor and report on the availability and performance of the CICS environments
  • Install and maintain CICS and CICS related software, making use of the Citi’s SSMF infrastructure.
  • Maintain and modify the CICS and CICS related system parameters (tables, JCL, etc.) to allow the efficient running of applications.
  • Production of clear technical documentation as appropriate.
  • Promote the use of CICS and CICS related software with client organizations.
  • Compliance with all local, regional, global and regulatory policies, processes and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Technician with Level 3 skills in the following areas :

  • CICS Internals
  • CICS Performance
  • CICS Application Coding
  • VSAM Knowledge
  • TSO / ISPF usage
  • Database (DB2) Knowledge
  • MQ Knowledge
  • In addition, knowledge of the following is preferred.

  • CICS Dynamic Allocation (DADS or CAFC)
  • CICS Table Management (CATS)
  • Database Related (TableBase)
  • Debugging Software (InterTest or IBM Debug)
  • CICS Dump Reading (CICS AbendAid)
  • Security System Knowledge (RACF or TopSecret)
  • CICS Monitoring (Omegamon for CICS)
  • Key things to highlight :

  • Person should have at least BASIC knowledge of MVS / z / OS (TSO / ISPF editor, simple JCL coding / analyzing output, SDSF usage)
  • Person should be smart, inquisitive, and capable of learning
  • Person should be strong in problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Advantages :

  • Any experience in CICS (administration and / or operations)
  • Knowledge of any additional areas of MVS / z / os (DB2, Storage, Networking, Performance Monitoring)
  • Ability to develop tools to for easier reporting / administration / monitoring of CICS regions or any programming skills
