About the Mercury Support Team (MST) : Finance Operations (FO) is an internal EY Finance organization that is part of EY’s Global Mercury Support Team (MST) which in turn is jointly owned by business and IT.

Finance Operations helps support several key Finance Products including Mercury (which is EY’s SAP centric platform supporting Customer to Cash processes).

The MST is a centralized and global organization that provides operational and support for the Mercury user community. The MST plays an integral governance role in the global Mercury solution and will evolve to work closely with the business to enable the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Mercury and to set the future direction and technology road map.

About the Role : FO Management is an extension of the Finance Operations Lead. The team is responsible for supporting the operational activities of the FO group and ensuring that work products and timelines meet client expectations.

The team achieves this by closely monitoring progress, risks, and dependencies and packaging that information in a consumable format for key stakeholders.

The team further adds value by providing finance analysis and advisory to realize efficiencies and assure quality. Responsibilities :

  • Support the Finance Operations Leader achieve smooth and integrated finance operations
  • Systemically ensures business event triggered workloads are led to successful conclusions
  • Lead business event triggered workloads in a manner that keeps the Finance Operations Leader, FO Management team members, and all other impacted FO and MST leaders effectively informed
  • Provide oversight in a manner that ensures financial integrity, quality and completeness
  • Ensure business event solutions are holistic, ensuring representation from all parts of Finance and supporting teams
  • Collaborate with FO and MST teams to achieve an integrate business event solution that leverages existing designs and policies before introducing new elements
  • Inspects proposed business event solutions and provides initial operational viability reviews
  • Establishes and manages dependencies in the financial systems (e.g. if allocations fail in a particular step, understand what other pieces need to be rolled back if restarted)
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a large business system environment, performing business analysis, business development, and / or project systems management with a preferred focus on SAP finance solutions FI (new GL, AP, AR, FA, Treasury, BPC, FSCM) and CO (CCA, PCA, PA, IO, PS)
  • Direct experience in complex management activities, such as business development, application development / deployment
  • Direct experience in managing staff and budget
  • Project management training, practical application, business analysis, sales, marketing, business development or relationship management experience is preferred
  • SAP certification preferred
