The Role

The Shared Functions Process Manager, European Shared Services (SSC), will lead the SSC operations for the European region leading the Shared Functions department that consists of three sub-

teams : Master Data Maintenance, Travel & Expenses and Scanning (Invoice Pre-Processing). This role will play an integral role in the execution, quality, and timeliness of SSC processes and tasks and will lead the teams to create a culture of innovation and performance excellence, with a strong focus on continuously improving performance, cost, and service.

The Process Manager will be part of Leadership Team of ADM EMEA Shared Services Center and will require significant expertise in managing the operations of a Shared Service Centre, while focusing on continuous innovation and improvement and strategically partnering with various stakeholders in the organization to strengthen and develop the center to continue to add value to ADM.

This position will require knowledge in SSC processes including Invoice Pre-Processing / Accounts Payable, Travel & Expenses, Master Data and potentially other cross-

functional back office and transactional processing functions. Effective communication across functions and with customers and stakeholders will be vital to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for daily operations of all processes in the Shared Functions Department, ensuring that tasks are completed timely and to customer specifications
  • Establish goals and objectives for direct reports and assess performance against them
  • Set clear expectations and define development plans for all direct reports and actively monitor and coach performance
  • Ensure stretch goals are set for processes each month, and actively monitor and assess team performance against these goals
  • Establish key performance indicators and measure performance against these, in relation to the agreed level of service with customers and stakeholders
  • Provide input and guidance on process optimization and remediation
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Actively communicate to stakeholders and SSC Director regarding Shared Services performance, including significant accomplishments, concerns, and risks
  • Partner with business partners to ensure a clear understanding of business needs
  • Ensure compliance with all ADM policies and legal regulations, apply internal controls, and mitigate risk within SSC processes
  • Be responsible for the documentation of processes including standard operating procedures, training materials, and internal control documentation.
  • Provide information to auditors as required / requested

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing within Shared Services operations
  • Ability to lead, direct, and motivate colleagues
  • Can effectively coach and develop team members
  • Communication skills to actively listen, clarify, lead, or channel a discussion
  • Ability to plan and develop ideas, and to drive change within the organization
  • Resource, Project Management, and organizational skills
  • Strong focus on servicing (internal) customers
  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and problem solving skills
  • High degree of organizational agility, able to handle sensitive issues with discretion
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm and effective under pressure
  • Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles in a time-sensitive environment
  • Advanced knowledge of systems including Microsoft Office programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or Business Administration; CPA or other similar qualification preferred
